I have a fenced in yard but my dog still seems to get out. I was thinking of using an invisible fence that I would run around the fence line. I still want my dog to be able to have full run of the yard but once he got close (within a foot) he would get a warning. Is this possible?
I don’t want to hear from anti fence people. I have done all types of training by proffesionals and it didn’t work.

My wife and I have 3 pets (2 dogs and a cat) and our house seems to generate a lot of dust. Every day it seems we need to vacuum and dust to prevent our rooms from looking atrocious. Is there anything we can do to prevent pet hair and dust from setting on so many objects or some way to catch it?

Which dog store/magazine sells the best quality pet material for the lowest prices. I’m looking for actual quality, too. Where do you get your pet supplies. Are they the lowest? Is there any pet suppliers with prices lower than http://www.petedge.com ?

My samll female chihuahuah mated about 2 weeks ago and now seems to be sick…. She had discharge for like a week, brown bloddy smell, the discharge has stopped. But she still is really lazy and wont eat. I am force fedding her dog food and water. We talked to a vet and he does not think it pyometra because the discharge is not pus like. Has anyone had this experience….?

okay firs off lets just see how much owning and being a responsible dog owner is like haveing a kid.
dogs: what you need to become a good pet owner:
1. always make sure you save a little money in case of emergency issues
2. ensure when you are not looking to breed to have your dog spayed/nuetered
3. make sure all dogs are utd on all shots
4. keep them healthy with exercise/good diet
5. make sure to provide plenty of water in the summer months
6. never get buy/adopt a dog that is not compatible with you/other dogs
7. make sure to give your new pet a loving home
8. provide proper training, by using rewards, and never harsh punishment always stay calm.
9. take plenty of pics during those puppy chewing stages to laugh about later
10. this one is most important: ALWAYS keep a pic ready to show off when someone asks if you have a dog.

now to those not so furry kids: what it takes to become a parent:
1. you need to have either health insurance/ money for emergency cases.
2. a parent should always keep up with shot records
3. show them what a good diet and exercise is
4 make sure to keep your kids hydrated when playing out in that hot sun remember sun screen
5. bring them up in a loving home as stress free as possible
6. education: make sure the get a proper education for a good future
7. patience is key to setting rules
8. take lots of pics, of those babies to laugh about later
9. keep pics on hand to show off you kids when you are asked about them.
10. if you can follow all steps from becoming a good dog owner, when your kids are old enough to handle a dog, then you might just be ready to handle becoming a pet/kid owners:)

so many " my dogs are sick question" with excuses as Just because i don’t have enough money doesn’t mean i am not a good pet owner, which in some cases it’s true but those same people all to often will turn around and condone a mother for not raising her kids with proper manners, not giving them health care, etc.

can you add anymore? what do you think? remember this is for fun so no thumbs downing and keep your opinions open, but remain kind, for instance dont single anyone out.

Hello, I’m looking for a good Pet Health Care plan. Any ideas? I don’t want the AKC Plans since I dont want a reimbursment type since some of the vet visits will be high in $$ and can’t pay it all at once then wait for the reimbursment. I want a plan sort-of like a human’s health care, you go in and pay a co-pay and that’s it besides the monthly payments to the insurance company. Something along that line. All these pet insurance companies are confusing me!
