I don’t want to use frontline or advantage because it is very expensive and I don’t like using the chemicals on my pets. two lap dogs and one retriever.

I have heard of garlic powder sprinkled on your pets food. But how much? And I heard pros and cons about using garlic,some good,some not good.

I have also heard of giving your pet Brewer’s Yeast tablets that it works. Where do I get these brewers yeast tablets for pets?

Has anyone used brewers yeast tablets?

Does anyone make their own spray with essential oil’s?

How does one use the whistle when training a dog? To tell him "what to do" (blowing the whistle, and saying the command come, for example) or "what NOT to do", lets say if the dog is nipping your trousers legs and you want him to stop?

My cat bit me during a bath. It’s on the wrist vein but i don’t think it punctured it because it did not bleed alot. Within a couple of hours it became swollen and it burns. The pain goes up the arm almost to the elbow and down into my fingers. Dumb Question but i don’t have insurance and am currently laid off. Should i seek medical treatment or is it just sore and will feel better soon?

I have a Basenji that weighs 15 pounds, hes is visibly underweight.

He doesn’t eat any type of dry dog food and the wet dog food gives him diarrhea.

He seems to really enjoy cat food & I have read that dogs are actually carnavores and that it would be ok to feed a dog cat food becuase he needs the protein and fat at this point. Any suggestions of a good brand?

It’s only Revolution that I’m wanting to get — anti flea, tick, worm, etc. However, I have to have a prescription to buy it, and my vet won’t write me one. Oh, he wants my dog to have it, all right, but he wants me to buy it from HIM, for about more per month than I’ve seen it online.

Is it possible to get it without a prescription?

I can’t buy anything online due to some problems so I was wondering what pet stores sell raw meat canned food. I’m looking for the good stuff, with just raw meat and bone. There can’t be any grain and hardly any fruits or vegtables.
Can anyone suggest a good brand and where to buy it from?

Here is my problem. I have a two year old orange tabby who I am considering getting pet insurance for before she has problems, I also have a sponsored child in Kenya who has two more years of sponsorship left. My husband said we can get pet insurance only if I drop my sponsored child. Do tabby cats have more health problems then other cats? Would it be to late to get insurance when she is 4 or 5? What would you do? Please explain. Our animals are our only children and human children are not in our future which makes this a tougher choice.

The breeder says that the puppies parents are both AKC certified and westminster champions however she doesn’t want to AKC certify this puppy. She is still charging me for a champion bloodline though.
