At first I thought that she was pregnant from when I got her but it’s been longer than the gestational period and she keeps getting bigger. I looked at her today and she looks like a balloon with a neck and the lumps are on either side of her body and mushy-like. Could this be something serious? And does anyone know the average veterinary bill for a small animal? (like a range since they don’t really have insurance like I do)
Thanks!

I have taken out dog pet insurance for my puppy just in case something happens like an accident or something and we are faced with a huge vet bill that we know we couldn’t just find straight away.
Does anyone know how it works..has anyone claimed on thier insurance??? can the vet claim directly or does the owner have to find the money??
Thanks….£1,400 goodness I’m glad I’m insured!, surely the vets would claim for that amount directly from the insurers what normal person has funds like that in their bank account… I will check about the lifetime cover
Ohh I see, yes I have taken out platinium cover, they will reinstate up to £7,000 cover each year when you renew.

the animal hospital i go to says they need to test cats for feline leukemia and can do a combo test testing for leukemia and feline fiv. then they can give the feline leukemia vaccine once negative. however on some cats they just give the feline leukemia vaccine without the test so i am confused. can someone explain this to me.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks regarding what you have possibly fed your dog that you made yourself. Is raw meat really that good for your dog? I am very serious about starting to take the time to monitor exactly what goes into my dogs’ bodies.

We’re looking to get ourselves a British shorthair / tabby kitten and want to know what we need to look into getting sorted. Litter box, pet insurance, petfood, etc… costs welcome along with any advice for having an indoor pet as I’m far more used to having outdoor cats. Obviously that’s not going to happen in a 2nd floor flat, though, so this is a bit new for me!

My dog has been acting very funny. I cant really describe it as anything obvious, but anyways I took her to the vet and he said it looked as if she was have hallucinations or a seizure. Anyways what I want to know is, is there any place where I can find info on the symptoms that dogs may have from these kind of things or where I can describe what she does and how she acts and by that info I can get a list of things that could be wrong w/ her. I know it’s not going to definately give me a forsure diagnosis but I just want to see if what I can describe, what info I will get back, Please Help.

I went to the emergency room after having pain in my side for a week a few months ago. They did standard tests, including CAT scan, and they said they didn’t find anything serious. A week later I received a bill for over 5 thousand dollars. I sent them what they requested for a payment plan (bank statements, etc). I am willing to repay this debt but the problem is I have no medical insurance and I am a full time graduate student. I plan to graduate in june of 08 and hope to get a job soon afterwards. I am living off of a student loan but any money I have left over every month I would like to save for an emergency (car repairs, dental bills, etc) that may come up. My question is, do you think the hospital would allow me a moratorium (suspension of payments) until I graduate and secure a job (which would be in june of 08)? I am just afraid that if I can’t pay them now they will sue me or take me to court.

I want to be a veterinarian and i’ve been doing a lot of research on the job! I’m not old enough to be one yet but i’m just curious to know what are the chances of me being a very successful veterinarian? I get straight A’s on my report cards and i’m very very patient!

She has plenty of cat food and will eat it. But she keeps jumping on my lap, or on the table and stealing food off the plate. She’ll stop whatever she’s doing just to get my food.
I don’t allow her on the counters or on the table. And she eats a variety of dry and wet cat food. She also gets treats when she’s behaving.

I have to make an appointment for them to get shot… 12 weeks and 16 weeks.
I am wanting to get them on some sort of insurance that will take care of all vaciinations and vet visits PLUS spading them at 6 months – Does anyone know about this?
After that I will seek for long term health…

Approximately how much is it per month? Also does the price include food and tack etc and do you have to pay for insurance?
