How long will it take to get rid of Feline Chin Acne?

My cat was diagnosed with feline chin acne. I’ve been washing her chin for the past 3 days with a benzol peroxide shampoo I got from the vet, but it doesn’t seem to be getting much better yet. How long can I expect to have to do this before it clears? And yes I’ve switched her bowls to glass ones. she’s an indoor cat as well

We found a breeder on the AKC breeder classifieds and called her, she said her puppies cost 0 plus tax. Is this around the right price, or is it too much? Also, we are e-mailing her tonight and would like to know what to tell/ask her. What would you breeders want to know in the first e-mail?
what are you talking about.

What’s the best dog training tip you ever got?

Whether from a trainer or from your own dog, is there a specific instance that you can recall that changed something about the way you train for the better?
*WOW* – some great answers here! Very cool!

We got this cat at a local pound a month and 1 week ago. About a week and a half ago, she started getting up every night and running and howling. She is keeping us all up and we cant sleep because she is so loud. We set up an appointment with a local vet to have her spayed. Will this help with all the problems and calm her down at night?

Is a horse supposed to have Canine teeth?

My horse has canine teeth, and I was wondering if they were supposed to be there, or if they were like Wolf teeth.
My mare horse just 1 canine, a tooth right behind her front teeth.
A wolf tooth is the tooth right in front of ther back teeth, right?

Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian in the Los Angeles area? I know this is a huge area. But, I don’t mind traveling as long as I know my puppy is getting the best care.

During the transferring of the cat to the vet, my girlfriend’s mom was scratched. She got rabies shots today (my gf’s mom) My question is, could my gf or me have rabies? Because during the grieving period after the cat was put to sleep, my gf’s mom kissed her on her cheek, and since then I have kissed my gf. So, now I’m a bit paranoid of this, and having no health insurance makes it worse. Am I at risk now for rabies or is my gf? Thanks, or am I just being paranoid and a hypochondriac?
To answer the last person, yes the cat was frothing/foaming at the mouth, the cat had been to the vet 2 days earlier, and was thought to have a urinary tract infection, and then 2 days later, he was the tasmanian devil, full blown rabid, the vet has been a vet for 30 years. he said either ensifilites (sp) or rabies. I saw the cat, believe me, this was a very in pain rabid cat, seizing, convulsing, etc, was not pretty. We are assuming the cat was bit maybe 1-2 weeks before it was put to sleep. by either a bat, racoon or skunk, cat was mostly an indoor/outdoor cat, only 6 year old male, had gotten annual shots, inc rabies shots all his life, but we were a little past due on his latest. happened here in ohio, big house, big backyard, other outdoor cats, lots of activity, etc. very tragic.

Aside from cooking her meat myself, what’s the best quality dry dog food? I just spent on a bag of Royal Canin, and Costco’s dog food has chicken & chicken meal as the 1st 2 ingredients, while Royal Canin’s 2nd ingredient is rice!

What vacuum is really the best for pet hair?

I have a Siberian Husky so you know the shedding that goes on and I really want to buy a vacuum that can handle the job. I have a hoover wind tunnel thing and that poor machine does not cut it. I have been looking into the dyson because I saw a good deal for black friday but the reviews were kind of in the middle. I want to know if anyone can really tell me the best vacuum for pets and price is not that big of a problem as long as it really works.

She would be of no use to her owners because she would never race again. And I am sure they have insurance they collect when one of their horse’s die.

national dog food brand dog food vs niche brand vs raw?

i want to do what is the very very very best for my dog.

i am a student, but i can arrange to be able to prepare his meals and everything.

i have been feeding my dog right now this packaged raw meat dog food that comes from new zealand (country pet).

my vet said that the best dog food is nationally tested dog food like iams, science diet, and purina because it is nationally tested for quality.

he said that niche dog foods (expensive foods you buy at the pet store) are not good and are overpriced and they haven’t been around long enough for people to see the long term effects or something along those lines…

he did not recommend raw food. he thought it was a perposterous idea like he looked at me like i had monkies on my head when i suggested it and talked about how bones can splinter in a dog’s insides. i read that it was different with raw bones though that that was only cooked bones, and that’s how dogs ate in the wild, and he said that dogs don’t live that long in the wild as domestic dogs do.

right now i am feeding my dog an expensive "niche" brand with the thought that it is better for him. he likes it a lot, too. i want to do what’s best for the little guy.

what are your thoughts?

A Lab was hit by a car one week a go and the ball of the hip joint is fractured in a couple places. She limps. The vet suggested that is surgery was not to answer then we could keep her penned up for six to eight weeks in order to heal. There is no pet insurance. How far would you go to provide care?

My cat was diagnosed with feline leukemia yesterday. Yes, we know the prognosis isn’t great, but we’ve decided to try and help him live as happy a life as we can for now, rather than just give up on him. The medications have helped to fight off the infection he had, but our biggest problems are a) trying to get him to use the litter box again, and b) helping him to understand that he can’t go outside and slink around in the grass like he used to. We have a dog who goes outside (only in the backyard), and I know that only serves to get our cat more upset when he sees him. Walkers, tunnels, and such are out of the question–I’m too concerned about him becoming infected again. We’ve improved his diet, his physical health is better, but I’m worried about his mental health. This has obviously affected his personality. Anyone have any ideas?
