I have a 4 month old lab/collie mix puppy. He has been licking and chewing on his skin (and paws) constantly (he has to stop in the middle of walking/playing often). I switched his food from Puppy Chow to ProPac two weeks ago (I was told that the ProPac was much better, corn is not the #1 ingredient), and also bathed him with a soothing shampoo. It has only gotten worse, if anything. We have lots of mosquitos in the area, but it seems doubtful they could penetrate his fur, or can they? Pretty sure his fleas are all gone (Frontline). Could he be allergic to the fabric softener on his dog bedding? I am at a loss, I feel bad for him! Also, he licks the area where he was neutered often. What does that mean? One more thing: he has chewed every dog bedding we put in his crate: beds, sheets, towels… Can anyone recommend a bed that is chewproof but cheaper than Orvis ToughChew? Thanks everyone!

My one kitty eats Hill’s Feline CD for urinary crystals, and my other kitty absolutely love it I can’t keep her away from his bowl. Is it ok to let her have it as her primary diet?

I am going to buy a guinea pig soon.
I dont know if I should get them from a shelter or a petstore.
I looked at petsmart.com and found out that they are 35 dollars each.
Can someone here give me an estimate on how much a guinea pig will cost with all of its supplies.
Also I am looking to get Pet Insurance for my guinea pig.
I am going to get the excotic pet insurance for guinea pigs what ever it is.
Does anyone know how much that is a month.
I also need to know where is there a vet in new jersey.
Any tips will be helpful for me.

If a horse gets out on the highway and gets hit and killed who is liable? So I boarded my horse in a pasture with two other horses. The area where the horses were at the fencing wasn’t the greatest but it was funtional. Well the property owner decided to move the horses to another area. He stated that they should be fine because it was so grassy that they wouldn’t try anything. He also assured me that he checked the fencing. Well I went out there the 15th of October to ride my horse and all three of the horses were gone. I looked in all the pastures and up and around the guys property and went to the closest neighbor to ask if they have seen any horses. Well by that time it was getting really dark and I didn’t know the area that well so I called the property owners phone and talked to him and waited til he got home. When he did get home he assurred me that he would go look for them and not stop til he found them. So I went home. Not long after I got home he called and said that some neighbors he talked to saw the horses but didn’t try catching them so they ran off. So he tried following them and finally gave up. I told him when he called that first thing in the morning I would go out and continue looking for them. Well at 6amish. I got the call from him that he found the horses…then the phone cut out and I tried calling back. He answered and said that my horse was hit….that was all he said. I left and headed to where he told me she was hit. I did’nt know what to expect. When I got there were cops everywhere and a smashed car. I prayed and hoped it was’nt my horse. But it was….she was dead on the side of the road. The lady that hit her came up to me and told me how sorry she was and that it was a accident and that she would’nt sue me or anything. I told her that I was glad she was ok. The cop that came and talked to me also assured me that it was a accident and that I would ‘nt be at fault. Well in jan ?? I got a letter from the lady’s insurance company saying that I owe her money for the damages to the ladys car and extra for personal reasons. So now I am confused about whose really at fault. Is it me, the property owner or the lady. Ohh and the lady that hit my horse was the same lady that stopped and saw the horses running along the road and tried to help get them out of the road so she knew about them being on the road ( the property owner was out looking for them right before this happened so he missed it by minutes.)
I did talk to a lawyer and got it all figured out……I hope.

I know a dog that has ringworm. I know the family doesn’t have any money to take it to the vet and neither do I, but if anyone has any tips of how I could treat it cheap? A home remedy? The family would let me help it if I could. They don’t want their dog to suffer..
Thank you!!
God bless!!

I recently adopted a 2 month old kitten, Juliet from the local humane society. I was supposed to pick her up 24hours after the adoption was finalized, but then they called and said that she was sick with the kennel cough. How long will it take for her to get over her cough? Will it still be contagious to my two dogs(5), my cat(17) and my rabbit(2) at home?

Hi, I am in middle school and I am doing a Career Project in becoming a Veterinarian
I am trying to find out what training does a vet has to have. Another question I have is- what employment opportunities does a vet have, what kind of career environment does a vet work in, and also what are the aptitudes, skills, and salary when you become a Vet.
Thank you

I need a little help. I’m considering buying health insurance for one of my dogs. In the past 4 years, she has racked up to AT LEAST ,000 in emergency vet bills. She has broken two of her legs, swallowed foreign objects, eaten snail poisoning, and has had not one but two tumors removed from her.
Just wondering:
-what are the chances of my dog being insured?
-What is the process of making a claim with a pet health insurance?
-Will I be charged anymore?
-Any good pet insurance you know that will accept my dog, without an extremely high costing claim?
It’s not a matter of if my dog will get injured again, it’s a matter of when.
