Just wondering, they are due and I wanted to know if my pet insurance would cover her vaccinations, if not I CAN PAY (just so all the people out there dont reply saying "does it matter? she needs them thats all that matters")

I’m looking to adopt a dog in the next week or two, and in getting together all the preparations, I’ve taken pet insurance into consideration. I currently work at a vet, so all of my exams/vaccines are free to me, but I see so many pet emergencies and the prices that come with them..
I’m planning to completely "dog-safe" my house the best I can an crate train for when I’m not home, but still a little unsure. Is Pet Insurance worth it? If so, does anyone have any recommendations?

He has a bald spot on his head, and the vet says its a possibality that it may be ringworm.
We just got him 2 weeks ago and he started to grow a bald spot on his head. The vet said that our small dog might like him too much and lick his head a lot and watch out for that. it has been 2 days and I can see little hairs starting to grow back. The vet also said that if he DOES have a ringworm then we will see more spots on him. The vet concluded it all with a " Give it a week and if his hair grows back, he’s ok. but if it gets worse, with more spots, etc, take him back and we will test him." He is not acting different, always playful. I looked up a piture of a at with ringworm on googe and I saw a cat who also had a bald spot, but it was orange looking. My kitten, Oscar, just has a regular bald spot and there is no orange, just a little "boo-boo" from our 3 year old dog who may have been playing too rough. PLEASE tell me what my kitten may, or may not have.

I want to buy my girlfriend a puppy. I want to buy it from a pet store. Do they ask any questions about where you live in order for the puppy to be in a good home? How old do you have to be to buy a puppy from a pet store? Do you have any contracts to sign or anything?
Also, what are some questions I should ask when buying a puppy?
I would be buying a shihtzu.

My chihuahua (on a leash) was attacked, unprovoked she was not barking or anything, by a brown lab (not on leash) there were deep gashes on both her sides. She had to be put under for surgery to repair the internal/external damage…have drains put in…antibiotics…anti-pain meds…etc. to approximately 0. Should this be reported to police? animal control? Should our neighbor be responsible for the vet bills? Any advice much appreciated.

My cat has been having urinating issues and the urinalysis showed she had crystals in her urine, which could be normal or indicative of bladder stones (potentially deadly as they can cause a blockage).
My vet recommended x-rays to determine if there were stones. On a separate appointment she had the x-ray, which cost and thankfully showed no bladder stones.
On the VPI Pet Insurance claim form, you need to write the diagnosis, among other details. Since there were no stones found, no diagnosis was made. Does this mean they won’t cover any cost of the x-ray?
I’m going to call them too, but if anyone else knows what I could write down to have it covered (but being honest about it), I’d appreciate it.

The pet sitter will not be doing latch-key visits (where the owners are on vacation) and they will also be doing other small services such as poop removal, nail trims, play time, and feeding/watering. What type of pet- sitting insurance would they need to buy? What is better, membership or monthly rate?
They are not interested in affiliating with corporate pet-sitting organizations.
Yahoo community I need your help. We went on a 9 day vacation and left our 2 greyhounds with a lady who does dog training and boarding at her home. She was recommended by the local rescue group. We went for a visit before we dropped the dogs off to discuss their issues.. mostly that greys are delicate and NOT yard dogs. We paid a premium price to board them in a home environment. And now that my dogs are home we realize that is not what we got. They have callouses, chapped skin, missing hair, and sunburn. They are stiff, lame, and sore. I already paid her and didnt inspect them closely until I got home. I was very tired when I picked them up and I trusted her and her reputation.
What would you do?
