Best vacuum for pet fur and pet hair?
We have a Kirby and a Dyson and they both suck. It doesn’t even look like I vacuumed after going over the area three times. Maybe a specific brand/model designed for pets fur/hair?
I guess we have a Kirby and Hoover (not a Dyson). I spent 30 minutes trying to vacuum a 10ft x 10ft area and I finally gave up. The Kirby works wayyyy better than the Hoover but there is still white pet hair on the almost black carpet! The lighting sucks so it’s easy for me to not notice. I’ll check out the Dyson animal one. I’ll probably have to save up for whatever one I wanna get!

Kirby Vacuuum. They are expensive but well worth the money!
Do you have yours on the right height adjustment, and is your brush roll spinning? I love mine!
I manufacture a vacuum manufactured specifically for vacuuming fur and hair. It is called the FurVacX and is costing $60 with the purchase of disposable for costing $30.
I have 1 dog and 2 cats all three are black and have very light colored carpet and my Dyson Animal picks up the hair with no issues on 1 pass…..Do you have the right dyson?
My wife and I had the same question about two years ago. We thought about the Dyson and others in that price range. I wasnt ready to pay $500-$600 dollars for a vacuum.
We have three Siberian Huskies who I swear shed everyday of the year. I read consumer reports and Eureka’s The boss got very good reviews specifically for removing pet hair. We own it and swear by it. Its a great vacuum with a sealed heppa filter. The best thing is it can be purchased for under $150.00. The bags and belts are low cost and easy to find. I should also mention that it is quiet.
Go out and buy one you can thank me later.
Install central vac.
I have 3 dogs and 4 cats, so pet hair is an issue here. I recently bought a Bissell Healthy Home vacuum and am quite happy with it. Normally priced at around $250, I managed to find a sale and got it for $200.
And you might try this idea. Husky hair has a hollow shaft = air in the shaft equals more insulation. That type of hair is really hard to get up. Take a spray bottle and put about a tablespoon or two of liquid fabric softener in it and fill the rest with water. Give it a good shake. Then lightly mist the areas with the worst concentration of dog hair and wait about 10-15 minutes and then sweep. The fabric softener helps break the static lock of the hair. I have a lab and their hair is the same way as they need the extra insulation when they’re "hunting" and retrieving in water.
Another idea, if you have a long hose on your sweeper, try grooming the dogs with it. I have gotten my lab and my german shepard mix used to being brushed with the sweeper. The hair and pet dander goes right in the sweeper instead of on your floors and furniture.
And what ever sweeper you decide on, keep the bags changed (no more that 1/2 full), keep the filters clean (check your owners manual for details and sweep every day or every couple of days.
I have three dogs, Two english mastiffs and a boxer. I have a Rainbow Vacuum. It does an amazing job on carpet and hard wood. They are expensive but well wort it.
Hi, The Kenmore progressive vacuum and the Eureka Boss smart Ultra are the two highest rated vacuums for pet hair by consumer reports. http://www.byvacuumcleaners.com/best-upright-vacuum-for-pet-hair.html They outperformed the Dyson animal for picking up pet hair. Hope this helps.
I would like to know more about Trevor’s "FurvacX"
