Can You get meningitis from Lyme disease?

Someone close to me has a white blood cell count of 8,000 They think she may have Lyme disease also they are thinking Meningitis.. I was wondering from anyone who has Lyme disease is meningitis a part of lyme you may get? Also is it possible for a person to of had Meningitis for 10 months and no one find it?

yes lyme disease can cause meningitis.it has two different manifestation.Early and late.early is where it comes with in weeks to months of the disease onset.and can result in meningitis,cranial neuropathy,fascial nerve involvement and so on.late is where it results in manifestations after months or years after the disease onset and results in encephalitis,myelitis and neuropathy. hope that helps
