I have just read on CNN the ireports of people surviving brain cancer. Some people were saying they had no health insurance.

Can you imagine YOURSELF or a loved one, with no insurance, being hit with a brain tumor diagnosis?

Why do we punish (by death) those people in our society who:
-have lost their insurance when being laid off;
-who don’t have enough insurance for certain treatments
-who have opted out of insurance due to the high spirits of YOUTH
-who are mentally weak, incapable of holding their own in this DOG-EAT-DOG world (since when are we punishing the weak with death?)
-the certified mentally ill…homeless etc..
-the bums who DO NOT WANT TO WORK and their children (since when are we punishing lazyness with death?)

How can you be pro-life for the UNBORN and yet deny life to the already living?
Is the difference resting with the fact that to be anti-abortion it costs you nothing…while a universal healthcare system would cost you?

My almost 11 mnth old female lab has been getting sick often…

So far:
-Eye Infection (technically twice; it was starting and I had medicine leftover from last time and after I used it-it was fine)
-Ear Infection
-UTI….twice

The vet recommended:
-Allergy test
-Thyroid exam

They also recommended me changing her food…
She’s on Nature’s Recipe, which is a reputable brand and is good…she likes it (eats it all up) and I haven’t had any problems since I switched her on it….

I heard if I want to change her foods I should just buy Royal Canine and since she’s getting sick just buy her Vitamins and she should be fine…

I’m probably not going to do the allergy test because honestly,…a dog with allergies…? To what….? lol….

The thyroid exam seems like something that should be done to a dog that’s a lot older than she is now…

Maybe I should just do a simple blood test and see how that goes?
The allergy and the thyroid cost 0 something each….it doesn’t matter if it’s for my dogs health but like thinking about it honestly….does she really need it? Or is the vet just trying to get in some extra money…?

Oh, I go to Petsmart’s Banfield… (big mistake…switching as soon as my year insurance is over…)

What do you guys/gals think?
Should I just change her food to Royal Canine and get her Vitamins?
Or go through with those tests?
Or just go with a simple blood test?

***Oh, by the way, she is kind of overweight…she eats 2 cups of food a day…and she was chubby ever since we got her (8 wks)….

I would think people who actually know what they’re talking about would answer my questions instead of the people who consider to be know-it-alls and don’t have their facts straight…so let me clear things up…

-The food I feed her has no grain, no corn, no artificial preservatives,etc…it’s healthy and not a bad food…that is why I said it’s reputable…
-Royal Canine is a VERY GOOD food..if you have an argument against that…please show me your proof besides maybe a dog is allergic to it or something….
-Food doesn’t contain all of the vitamins a dog needs, anyone with half a brain could realize this…
If a person only eats good food…there’s no way in hell will they EVER, EVER, EVER….be healthy…there are various other affects whether it’s in the environment or other things they take LIKE VITAMINS…that help their immune systems and etc…
-The person telling me this advice is someone very knowledgeable considering he’s had dogs all his life…
-When I said "The vet wants my money" it’s not completely literal…obviously they don’t get all of it….but I mean it more in a sense of they don’t care about my money and just do whatever seems easier and whatnot……
-I know dogs get allergies…it was like an exaggeration…but it’s almost obvious this couldn’t have been caused from an allergy…

I hope I straightened things out for some of you people who’ve answered in my other question and your answer was just completely off….

NOTE**:This is the second food I’m giving my dog…the past infections (except the second UTI and the second Eye infection) were from the other food….(IAMS Smart Puppy)

Can someone really be a woman in a mans body? or vise versa? If you get a sex change operation, does that really change anything, I mean genetically you are still your birth given sex, are you not? You will never be able to get pregnant and never be able to get a period. You were born a man or woman by nature, thus your sex is such. Is this not evidence that one is transexual by mental disorder and not because they are bound by science or genetics? what if I beleive I am a dog in a man’s body? Does that mean I should get an operation to be a dog? Im not saying transexuals should be outlawed or anything-( whatever makes them happy as long as no one is being harmed)..what really bothers me is when they say it’s a genetic issue and health insurance should cover a sex change operation or part of it -as is the case in some U.S cities- like my city S.F….That is wrong…

I have been trying to find a job on and off for the last couple of years without much success as well as trying to hustle by walking dogs, cleaning apartments, etc. My family who has been worried that they would have to give my mom and I some money are now doing that and are angry as a result. When I tried to tell them that the job market is tight and I have been trying to find a job, they treat me as a liar. The last time that I was unemployed, they pressured me into finding a job, which I did , and was so angry at them that I took it out on employees at the job and was subsequently fired. I now have an injury to my leg in which I can’t put it down completely and I wonder should I try to go on job interviews and I’ve no health insurance. I am in my mid 30′s and I am tired of being treated like a baby or having to account for every job move to the family? I am feeling more suicidal by the day and I don’t want to go to another job and going off and getting fired again. Help!!!!!

Does anyone know of any grants or other type of financial assistance for medical bills? My daughter was bitten by a dog, and we now have ,000 in medical bills. We were fostering a dog for a rescue organization, and it bit her. The rescue organization acts like we don’t exist, we had no health insurance, and we make 0.00 too much per month to qualify for state assistance (Medicaid). Does anyone have any ideas?

Ooops I guess not. If this bill becomes law you can choose with exceptions. First, after the date the bill is signed you can keep the coverage you have but you can not change it unless you want the government program. So if you are working for a company and get fired and you have to start buying your health care you would have to go to the government plan. If you choose the government plan you are stuck there until you die waiting in lines for cancer treatment. So you can only choose private if you have coverage before the bill is passed and at that point you have to stay with that insurance company or sign your life away to the government health care which you must have for ever. Think I am lying directly from the bill “Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day” So after the bill private insurance company’s can not enroll new clients, which then means that the above stuff is the case.

Therefore, my fellow Americans contact all congressmen. Obviously talk to the Republicans and just ensure them that if they vote yes then you will vote no. Contact the democrats but most of them already made their decision before even reading the bill, if they actually do. However, there are 7 blue dog democrats who can possibly march this bill to the trash. My fellow Americans the end is near for the America we have become accustom to. This bill, among a few others, will ruin the country beyond repair and we will not be able to recover. So please if you care about the direction this country is doing. contact your congressmen, tell your friends, family and coworkers. You can stop this bill.

For the people who don’t read my post I quoted the bill and to make it easier I will do it again “Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day” That is straight from the bill word for word. I was getting ready for work this morning and tripped over a dog toy–i fell so hard and as i was going down i heard a crack! It was so painful at first. It now has a lump on the side and is a little hard to walk on. I have no health insurance and I don’t know what to do? Should I wait it out a little longer to see how it feels later?

I’ve never minded being an anti-social person until recently, I was with a girl for a little while who was way way more social then I could ever handle, but it all fell apart for that reason. I guess my only concern is that I will never have anybody in my life to get close too, because I dont go out and do things, I dont know how to meet new people, I never last more than an hour at parties and internet relationships are not ideal for me. Aside of being anti-social, I have jealousy issues, which stems to confidence, I have no health insurance and cannot afford any. So my question I guess is, am I doomed to lonliness for the rest of my life, or is there something I can do to rid of this issue and just be normal, human, someone, rather then a shadow hiding with my dog in my apartment, then going to work and coming back to do it all over again, every damn day?

health Dr.s say "you have [this horrible disease/illness] take [this drug] to get over it." medication helps you get better, your health insurance covers the medication.

eye Dr.s says "you are [nearsighted] you need glasses" you chose the frames, then the Dr gives whoever needs it that prescription. the glasses improve your eyesight. your health insurance covers the glasses.

therapists are Dr’s. your therapist says "man, are you crrrraaaaa-Z! take this [anti-phsycosis medication]" you take it, get better, your health insurance covers the pills.

therapists are Dr’s. they are the ones that say "you have [this psychiatric problem] you should get a service dog" you pay hundreds of dollars for the dog/dog supplies, then finally, if you had to train the dog yourself(or with help which costs $$), or if you are on a waiting list, after possibly months, or a year, you get the dog. the dog HELPS, just like the medication, glasses and anti-psychosis medication does.

why doesnt health insurance cover the dog?
D.R.Brushmore: that makes sence, but if a DR says "take this drug" and that makes it legal for you to have the drug/medication.

if the terapist says you should get a PSD, than its kinda more than a pet, and even falls under the ADA, allowed in stores/resturaunts, and applies to the fair housing acts. so you can have the dog where your normally wouldnt, i hoped i eplained it ok, but it just seems kinda ironic.

we wont have an equal Health Care option FOR EVERYONE, we wont have any restrictions on Health Insurance costs (in fact by all accounts they’ll go up) and even the token gestures like "No preexisting" condition clause (which by the way effects me directly as a Heart Attack survivor) are bogus because on the other side of that gesture , the Insurance companies are not restricted on what they can charge for said pre-existing condition..so sure I can get coverage but it will cost me 24k annually…? If they Pay at all, 1 in 5 claims denied ?

In the meanwhile the personal Bankruptcy’s continue, Emergency rooms get slammed with head colds, and you and I get stuck with an Insurance company wet dream…???

Why is it that everyone here in the U.S. wants animals to have rights, but they deny human beings the right to free medical care based on citizen status. It makes no sense. Kill a dog you get life in prison. Kill a black human being maybe 2 years in jail.

My sister is a U.S. citizen, but she can’t get health insurance because my parents are out of work and she’s a minor. Also my parents are legal immigrants to this country and do not qualitfy for benefits like free medical or dental. So my sister is left to fend for herself. How sick is that?

I have had a bump right above my ankle for about two years now and it has gotten bigger over time. I got bit by a dog around the same area and the bump appeared afterwords. Now it is about golf ball size and is very tender to the touch! Does the dog biting me have anything to do with it? Is it a cyst or possibly something more dangerous? I have no health insurance so Im not sure it would help if I went to the emergency room.

I am confused… ok so most pet insurance policy’s make you pay up front the total cost… then they reimburse you right? Well then im confused about the deductible?? Why is there even a deductible then if you have to pay the full amount up front? So say my dog broke its leg and it cost me 00. Well then I have to pay the vet 00 out of m pocket up front.. then the dog gets its leg fixed.. then I file my claim and get reimbursed from the insurance however much % that is covered. Well then WHAT IS THE DEDUCTIBLE? Like my personal health insurance has me pay a deductible. So then i go to the doctor and I have to pay up front.. then i go see the doctor then I get a nice bill in the mail for whatever my insurance wont cover… THATS deductible. So what is the deductible for pet insurance when you have to pay the total up front anyways?? I am so confused PLEASE HELP!

My butt has been hurting for 5 days straight, everytime I get up it my muscles in butt strain and slivers of fresh red poop will drop out and its scaring me.

What can I do to resolve this? I don’t have health insurance, and I’m really not happy because my dog died last week of a brain anyerusm and i get crap at work for my ethnicty and nobody think its a big deal my butt has been doing this.
