I just want to know what dog food will ensure my dogs all live longer and stay energized? Fact not opinion please.
I have a lab about 5 and she got this muscle problem in her stomach where she can’t digest food properly so the vet suggested either soft food or smaller hard food pieces. Normally I would just give her the soft food, but I also have a 2 yo cattle dog and I would don’t want fat dogs.
So are there any brands of hard dog food that is in small pieces?
As my dog has aged, she has since stopped liking to eat any of the dry food we give her. We have tried adding pumpkin (something our vet suggested) to adding her favorite fruit apples but it doesn’t seem to work. Whenever we feed her either homemade or store-bought wet food she eats it right away. I have a lot of dry food left over. I read that if you add hot water to dry dog food it becomes almost the same thing as store wet food. Will this work? Any other suggestions?
Without spending money on bottles of dog gravy, what can I put on my dogs food every day to make her food more appetizing?
She’s eating, I just want to spoil her a little.
She is 8 weeks old and the breeder said she has been on puppy chow. I bought her puppy chow so she wouldn’t have diarrhea but I would like to change it to a better quality food. Also her poop has been a little soft lately (kind of like pudding but formed and probably thicker) do you think it could be stress or maybe the cheap dog food?
Also any tips on how to change her food?
I am getting a pup (sheltie) in about a month, and don’t know what kind of dog food to feed. I feed my cats Orijen dry and Merrick wet, but don’t know if they make dog foods. What dog food do you recommend and why?
He is healthy and young Pomeranian(1 yr), but he either diarrhea or vomits up most everything he eats. I have changes dog foods many times, which I really don’t want to do anymore, I know that is not good for him either. Also I have tried making him food, like eggs/ham/rice…and that seemed to agree with him a little more, but not great. I just need a great healthy preferably softer dry food that is good for him! thanks!
I am looking for health for my miniature pinscher puppy of 8 weeks… I was wondering what is the best insurance that covers Accident, Illness, medication, (plus Routine Care if possible) for a decent monthly rate? It would be great if the premium does not increase as the dog ages. I am currently looking at Trupanion and Petfirst, but not really sure… Would anyone recommend some insurances that would and did not work for them?
How much is the routine check up anyways?
I want to start feeding my dog Orijen dog food, but it isn’t sold anywhere near me and shipping costs are outrageous. I want to feed my dog the best and healthiest food. Any suggestions? Are merrick, Fromm, or wellness brands comparable alternatives?
I am 5 months pregnant and my boyfriend and I got pregnant while on birth control so it was deff a surprise. He wants me to move into the house but I agreed only if he fixes up the house (it was a bachelor pad for many years with pet urine/poo carpet along with other issues). He is slowly starting to fix up the house but his dogs are driving me nuts. They are not well mannered (getting on the furniture) and still poo in the house! When I try to disapline them he says "Dont talk to my dog like that" BUT I cant even have my cat there b/c he thinks he would be too mean to the dogs. He has 5 junker cars that I would not put a baby in and he is not willing to get rid of a few to get a nice car but he wants me to get rid of my mustang for an SUV. I feel like my life is being controlled by him and it is partially my fault for letting him for so long. But the longer we are together the less I want to be with him. Most recently he seems to be hanging out with his friends a lot, which normally would be fine but I always get the short end of the stick! For example today I am sick and didnt go to work. And he had made plans to see a friend for a few hours which I respected and didnt care…but I got to the point I could not get my temp down and almost went to the hospital and could not get ahold of him. Im starting to feel like this is more hassle than its worth. Everything I do I could do on my own. He doesnt have health insurance so I dont have to stay b/c of that and my parents are more than willing to let me stay at their house. He is excited to be a dad, but I think he has no idea how to be a good boyfriend.
…not have thought of?
Pretty straightforward question! We’re thinking of adopting for the aminal shelter, but obviously we want to make sure we’ve thought this through! We’ve thought of all the obvious stuff I guess like food, vet, health insurance, but what expenses might we be forgetting about?
Well, my newly adopted dog was just diagnosed with kidney disease. They said it’s not bad yet, but that I should feed her some special kidney disease food. I take her to the vet in Petsmart (Banfield), so she recommended Hills K/D (the only kind they sell there).
Anyway, I was wondering what anyone thinks is the best dog food for kidney disease "treatment". Thanks for any suggestions!! ![]()
ps: it’s chronic kidney disease, in case it matters. And she’s only 3 years old. Thanks again!
My college career was spotty, to say the least. I fully own up to my mistakes and fully admit I really had no desire to be there. I was more or less pushed by my family to attend (I was a first generation college student, it was my families dream to have a college graduate among a sea of high-school dropouts). I was always an excellent student in high-school (all honors and AP courses), but my heart and head were not in college at the time…and it shows. I have been working full time in social services for about 3 years and want to go back to school for nursing. I’m afraid my previous mistakes will hold me back. Is there any way to rectify this train wreck? My grades by semester are listed below.

-I was taking 6 classes my final semester, withdrew from 1 class, received a Satisfactory in 2 classes (non-graded practicums), a B- in one course, and an Incomplete/F in 2 courses. I have documented medical issues that semester and received an Incomplete in 2 courses…I was not able to finish the work required by the deadline and classes were changed to an F (listed as I/F).

-Completed my requirements for my B.A. in Sociology.
Community College:
Fall 2007: 3.5

Spring 2008: Withdrew. I was registered for courses to complete my minor, but ended up landing a full time job and had to withdraw.
Thanks Cochise, but considering I graduated 17th in my high school class of over 200, I would say I am academically oriented. I scored 4′s and 5′s all on my AP exams (US History, European History, Economics, US Government, Calculus, English, and Biology). I had no desire to be in college at the time and it very obviously shows. I also worked 3 jobs for a total of 60 hours a week the entire time, held various positions in my sorority and residence hall council, was a teaching assistant nearly every semester at university, volunteered with America Reads/America Counts, UFWA, and interned each semester.
Hey everyone!
I just bought my little dog dog food from costco for the little ones, and he loves it!
Sorry I don’t know much about dog food, but my vet recommended costco brand dog food, and it’s so cheap so it’s good so far!
Sooo thoughts?
Yeah answerer 1, I’ve been looking at raw food diet stuff.
i was having lot of financial trouble lately because for many months I could not find any job despite trying very hard. I graduated from college last year in may 2008 with bachelor of science in math. However being out of work for over I could no longer keep up with credit card debt.
I was not even able to find any an hour position. i was badly out of luck this time. I filed bankruptcy protection last week because i had about ,000 credit card debt which was largely the result of having no health insurance and being diagnosed with a gastro-intestinal sickness that has no cure.
The bankruptcy lawyer said that i have to list all my assets and some of them maybe taken by creditors. He said the dog may also be considered an asset if it has a market value.
So i want to know if i will lose my 2 year old male sheepdog mix because of bankruptcy.
