Next weekend I am due to get guinea pigs from pets at home. (two girls or two boys) is it okay to get them from pets at home. They are all very healthy and I have gotten everything else from pets at home and it is all in good shape. Please help!
I have a 3 month old kitten and a 3 year old cat that were tested for FeLV because they were living with a FeLV + cat for quite some time.
The vet said they are both negative and 99% sure that they are not carriers of the virus (and they’re now vaccinated against it) so does that mean they were not exposed to FeLV in the whole period of time that they were living with the positive cat? Or could they have been exposed and just killed off the virus?
Even though the test was negative and 99% I’m just so paranoid because the kitten is related to the other cat who had FeLV
So basically there is 99% certainty that neither of the cats will ever get FeLV in their lifetime?
I have vaccinated all my other cats against Feline Leukemia and I have thrown out old toys, litter boxes, and food dishes and basically disinfected the entire house

my cat is about 7 years old & shes both indoor and outdoor, but only goes outside a few times a day.
i know shes gotten in fights with other cats and she recently got in a fight a couple weeks ago when i wasnt home. my grandma who lives next door told me she heard a cat fight.
anyways it seems like lately my cat has been getting alot of "cuts" but i have no idea wat they r from. about a week ago i noticed one under her right ear. about the size of a pinky nail.
i was thinking that maybe she gets nicked by some sticker bushes when shes in the brush in my backyard hunting or "exploring" lol,
but whenever i see these "cuts" shes missing a chunk of hair along with it.
i didnt think it was too serious until last night i noticed a huge chunk of hair missing on her right elbow. no scrapes or scratches, its like a quater-sized chunk of hair was shaved off or something.
i was just looking at her and she has a small scab on the back of her neck, as well as one on the front.
i made her an appointment to see a vet on saturday but in the mean time wat do u think is going on?
I am wondering if there are any flights available from Kuala Lumpur to Toronto (Malaysia to Canada) that allow pets in the cabin? Specifically, a pet rabbit? I do not want her to travel in the cargo area incase she gets a shock and loses her life.
I am 19 years old and my parents gave away our dog to the animal shelter. saying he found her in the parking lot, and I feel so bad and my friend is allowing me to keep it at her place until we find her a home. I just need to know how much would it cost to get her out of the animal shelter, and what do they need from me? I have all the papers, such as vaccinations and license but they are under my dad’s name but I do have a receipt of when I took her grooming it says her name on it and mine. Will they give me a hard time? My parents don’t know about this because they won’t let me. It’s the animal shelter in San Diego, Ca. and she’s been there for 3 weeks now and no adoptions, I have been checking the website like 2 times a day. I went and visited her and she was going crazy barking and crying and jumping up and down, I care about her a lot and I just want to find her a home before they euthanize her
Also, how long do they keep them before euthanizing them?

I just discovered that my 1.5 year old cat has Leukemia ( I have to put her down tomorrow

and I was just wondering if any of my other (3) cats could be at risk. Last year, all of my cats including the one with leukemia had their vaccinations against FeLV but this wasn’t until 2 months after I brought home the one that had leukemia.
So could my other cats get leukemia in that period of time before they got vaccinated, or can they only spread it once the infected cat shows symptoms? They recently got their vaccinations for this year but I have no idea if they could be carrying the virus or not

I actually brought this cat home from a farm where it was skinny and suffering, and all of my cats are indoor cats. Why would you even say I’m irresponsible? That’s such an inappropriate comment
I want to insure my two kittens, I’ll be bringing them home in april.
I’m curious as to how it works. I checked it out at the OSPCA and my total was like 44 bucks per month. But when does the insurance kick in? Can I use it for spaying? What about vaccinations? Do I have to be paying monthly fees for a cirtain amaount of time before my vet vills are covered?
