Hoping to get some suggestions from pet owners that have been lucky enough to find a good vacuum cleaner for pet hair and has lasted the test of time as well. Thanks,

Hi, A friend who has pets and kids bought a Eureka boss smart vac ultra 4870 and she loves it. She said it was recommended by consumer reports magazine and rated right up there with higher priced vacuums. It outperformed the Dyson animal. It was priced around 150.00 and really cleans carpets and bare floors with the flick of a switch. Has hepa filtration for allergies, 8 carpet settings, convenient tools and ability to control suction when using tools. Eureka also rated in the top two for the fewest repairs. http://www.byvacuumcleaners.com/Eureka-boss-smart-vac-ultra.html Hope this helps.

you can get a hoover. they are good ones but you hvae to make sure that it does not do anything big and not suppose to be in their. i mean i was told by a person who fixes them that they only last about 4 years at the most even the best ones. i know this to be fact and if you dont’ take care of it will break belt really fast.
get a good used Kirby — look on eBay and/or Craigslist
I have a siberian husky and we use a bissell momentun vac. Its one of those cyclone-y things with the clear dustbin. Works great. We can fill up the thing with doghair every week
We just bought one from Wal-Mart for 59.99 its A Dirt Devil Pet & when we brought it home we had just ran it with the other vacuum and it picked up almost a whole canister of pet hair!
Dyson Animal. I have a 150 pound Great Pyrenees that lives inside – I need to vacuum at least once a week. I get a canister of pet hair per room.
It will cost more than your budget, but save a bit more money and you can find refurbished ones (overstock, amazon) for about $250. It’s bagless, so there’s no added expense of bags. I just love mine; had it for 2 years without a single problem. I bought mine refurbished. Normal price about $600.
Shop around in the SALES and online.
IF you can grab a Dyson Animal then great..
if not then something solid like a Morphy Richards Performair 1700w bagless or a Bissell (as the Lady above recommended)
I like Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Dual-Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaner. You can try.
