How can I protect myself from ringworm?
So my toddler has tinea capitis (scalp ringworm) and I am worried about catching it. As his mother I really can’t avoid contact–he rubs his head against my chest, climbs into bed w/ me in the middle of the night, not to mention the fact that he always wants to be cuddled!
I really can’t affford to catch ringworm, though. Anything I can do to protect myself other than handwashing?
Also, since he has oen form of it can i still catch the other forms of ringworm from him too?
Thanks in advance.

Just because your toddler has tinea capitus doesn’t mean you will get it. It is caused by a fungus but not everyone is susceptible. He should be treated with a topical antifungal (lamisil) and within a week he should not be infectious (even shorter). I would not worry about it.
