how long is a dog contagious with kennel cough after starting antibiotics?

my dog (her name is tegan) is five months old and vaccinated fully according to her age. i recently rescued another dog (his name is gravy) from an animal shelter who brought kennel cough home with him. i am planning on going to this event called dogtoberfest on saturday the 21st at our awesome dog park. i really, really want to take (tegan) with me but i don’t want to be a jerk and infect any other dogs if she is still contagious. she will start her antibiotics tonight so she will have had a total of six doses before the event. thanks a lot for your help!

i know a human is not contagious after 24hrs on an antibiotic, but not sure about animals.
try calling your vet, and ask them.
they will be more knowledgable about animals than anyone here, possibly.
ok. . .the kennel cough is REALLY contagious, so even though the dog is not coughing anymore..DONT take your chances and infect other dogs..
To be sure, just call and ask the Vet where You got the medicine. Other dog owners may not pick up on it like You did and treat their dogs in time. Please don’t risk it.
