How sick could a dog get if he ate muscles from the garbage, that were a few days old?

My nieces dog got into the garbage and ate the muscles she had from a few days ago. How sick could she get. She has been just laying around all day today ever since she ate them.

Just as sick as we could get. She will probably be fine unless she started throwing up a lot. In all honesty dogs stomaches can process A LOT more than we can. Keep an eye on her but not too close of one. I find that when you are expecting your dog to get sick you start seeing signs of it that arent actually signs (i.e. dog laying around all day…dog tends to lay around all day anyways, dog drank water 3 times in one hour…do you really notice how much they drink before they got sick?) Things like that.
dog will be fine,, except it will probably have diarrhea,, stinky stinky stinky…
It all depends on how many the dog ate. It will most likely either throw up or have diarrhea. It will for sure have a upset tummy all day so she may be a little lethargic through the day. Just let her relax and if she starts crying in pain bring her to the vet.
Well, fresh mussels have been rumored to be good for dogs with arthritis. However, old mussels would make a dog (or anyone) sick. Keep an eye on her and offer her her regular dog food. She probably won’t eat it, but at least you’ll know. Also, keep track of her water intake. If she vomits continuously or doesn’t pep up in a day or two, you should call the vet.
Very hard to say without knowing more facts. But usually a dog can consume food that is in poor condition without much affect. Their digestive system is so short that often rotten food will pass from the dog before the bacteria can build up to any extent and cause a problem. If the dog did not vomit in the first hour or so then she will probably tolerate the mussels.
