How to install fresh copy of win xp in a computer running vista?

I need step by step instructions on how to erase windows vista and install fresh copy of win xp, i can’t format hd with vista, i can’t run xp setup, hd is invisible, if you haven’t done it before that means you don’t know how to do it so please don’t answer, I don’t need hints I need step by step instructions on how to get rid of vista for the xp setup to see my hd and be able to install it, thanks.

You’re going to have to copy your data to another source. The reason being is you’re going to HAVE TO format that drive in order to install Windows XP. Generlaly that’s not the case, but when you put Vista on it first, it is the case.
Either another hard drive, external device or burn to DVD are going to be your best options.

It is very simple.
1. Use Linux to erase all partition data and wipe the MBR
2. Purchase a Windows XP license and media then boot from the media.
3. Insert the driver floppy if required (or slipsteam the XP CD)
4. Follow the on-screen instructions
