okay well the question explains most of it. I’m currently doing some research on what company has the most afforable coverage for my dog. But there is so many to chose from: medical insurance, health insurance and vetinary insurance. What would you recommend for coverage and with what company at an afforable cost?

You get reviews and usually links to their websites for quotes. Keep in mind that some of them will not take a dog who has a pre-existing condition. Read through everything carefully, some cover more than others.
Petplan is very popular here. Basically, though it all depends on the level of coverage you want and the amount of excess you are prepared to pay.
There really isn’t a quick fix for this question. While I was looking, they all seemed to be very similar.
I came across a book called Pet Insurance Revealed that may be worth a look.
I haven’t read it myself, so can’t say whether it will be of benefit or not.
