In what states can a non-veterinarian own a veterinary practice?

I am a long time Veterinary Technician/Practice Manager. I would like to own my own Veterinary practice and employ a veterinarian to work there. In what states is that legal?

you would probally have to contact each state individually, but I know of a practice in CT where an ex-drug rep purchased the practice. Some people tried to tell him he couldn’t own cuz he’s not a vet, but after research, they found that CT does not have any law preventing nonvets from owning. Of course all med decisions are made by vets.
There is no restrictions for anyone to own veterinary practice so long as he/she does not practice it without a license. Engaging qualified Veterinaries Technician/Practice Manager to ‘run’ the operation is legal.
