My cat has feline constipation for a long time. How can I help him and get him to use his litter box again?

It’s been about 3 years of taking my cat to different vets. I tired him on a high fiber diet. I gave him laxatives and I even tried giving him mashed pumpkin in a can. That I read about as a remedy.
Every time he poops he moans. Some times I see blood but that’s not often. And he has not gone poop in his litter box in a very long time.

Let me explain something quickly. Extended periods of constipation leads to a condition called megacolon, and it;a really nasty.
It’s really important for that reason that you stop feeding dry food, as in right now. Feed tinned foosa, dna add more water into it as well, just a bit. Check for foods with fibre in them.
THis cat needs to get to a vet, who can feed your cat a purgative, not just laxative.
From what you have tried, fibre is not so much the problem as him not getting enough water – which is hard to balance out with dry food, so go wet, adding some more water into it before you feed it.
OK, what you do is to pick up him, take him to the litter box and then keep doing that over and over into the litter box. and give him some meds.
Hope he gets better.
You might want to try a little bit of pumpkin mixed in his food. Hairball remedies help ALOT. I know this because I accidentally gave my Bernie too much and he was pooping something fierce for a few days. A vet visit maybe in order!
Find a teaching vet school and take him to their clinic. You will be seen by vet students, but they have access to all of the newest meds and procedures.
Fiber isn’t the answer. Cats don’t need fiber, they need meat. He needs an all-canned diet. Dry foods – even the high fiber ones from the vet – cause constipation in cats. The reason he’s not using the litter box is because he’s constipated and it hurts when he goes in there. He is headed towards a condition called megacolon, where the colon can no longer push out the poop. It often needs surgery to manage it. Your cat needs a canned diet – and now – as well as a vet visit to get him cleaned out.
