She is a rat terrier and we’ve had her for over 3 years since she was a puppy. She just suddenly had kennel cough but she wont eat anything, not even the medicine.
If I try to put the medicine in her mouth she refuses and tries to bite me, she usually isn’t aggressive at all.

Hi
Her appetite may be reduced, as she is not feeling good. You can try to entice her to eat with cottage cheese or yogurt. The medicine needs to be given, even if you have to manually put it down her throat. Fluids are more important than food at this time, but if she is not eating for 48 hours, she needs to be seen again.
Best of luck,

Try chicken or turkey baby food. Cooked skinless chicken. You can give her wet food warmed up so it smells strongly. I agree cottage cheese or a small amount of sugar free yogurt is okay. Banana, apple, Peanut butter or cheese just to stimulate her. Cooked egg whites. Small amount of low fat cream cheese. Try any or all of these things. Most likely she is getting an antibiotic so some food in the stomach would be best. If she refuses to eat for more than 24 hours call your vet. Again I agree about getting fluids soon if she does not eat or drink soon.
To give a dog a pill without food you need to put it into the back of her mouth past the lump of the tongue and then hold her mouth shut. Gentle rub her throat to get her to swallow. put her in a corner if she tries to back away or wrap your arm around her neck gently and hold her against your body.
I would try the yummy stuff first.
