possibly buying horse?
right, so field kept horse for sale, all tack and rugs etc come with it, barefoot.
Apart from these is there anything else i will need ( for the first month or so i wont be riding)

Grooming kit
Headcollar
Leadrope
Year wormer
Should i get insurance straight away or wait untill i start riding him?
BTW i dont need all the ‘horses are expensive’ ‘ are you experianced?’ etc i know but im am planning on budget horse keeping, thanks guys

i would say to get the insurance straight away, you may think standing in a feild’s safe enough but you never know what could happen and it’s better to be safe than sorry. apart from that if your not riding him for the first months that should be all you need really

It depends on what you’re doing with the horse during this first month. If he will just be a pasture horse, you’ve covered the basics. A safe enclosed area (pasture), shelter, halter, an adequate food supply, a water source (and depending on where you live, a water heater to keep it thawed), etc. However, of you’re planning on training during this time, you may want to consider additional items. A lunge line, splint boots, round pen, etc. can all be helpful. Good luck!
