Price for a horses wolf tooth to be removed?

The vet came to rasp my horse’s teeth the other day and said she needs one of her wolf teeth removed (the other one has already gone) I phoned up to get a quote and they said it would be £1800 if I took her to the hospital. Is this right? I thought it’l be cheaper as my horse insurance doesnt cover it?

it shouldn’t cost that much.
it was a heck of a lot cheaper when the vet came out to our barn and removed them himself.
