Hi this is a question for those of you who have health insurance for your dogs.

There is 2 plans one that covers up to 00 a year and one that covers up to 10,000 a year

Seriously which did you choose and why? What is the MOST you ever had to spend at the vet for your dog in ONE year? I have always been SO lucky…aside from routine dog stuff I have never had a major injury in any of my dogs requiring treatment KNOCK ON WOOD!

Now this plan would cover MVD…if a dog would be diagnosed with MVD what would be the cost of treatment? Does anyone know or have a dog with MVD they could share experiences? Again, I being a Cavalier breeder, have been fortunate enough to have never seen this.

I am still laughing….I live is SUCH a rural place that canine health insurance is NEVER seen until lately. Something I am considering for my new pup who is a Cavalier, of course. She will be a dog that I plan to show and currently has some pts earned with her breeder. (she is 9mos old) I recently purchased her from a great breeder and I am exploring my options as far as health insurance for her to try it out and see how it works for us in the long run. The breeder offers 3 free months so we will continue it and I figure as long as we have it I may as well make sure I have enough coverage for ANYTHING that may happen.
Yes, I know my pup…glued to me and minds extremely well the first time as do all my dogs

I am also extremely familiar with this breed as I have dedicated the last few years of my life to bettering this breed. I know my bloodlines well and I chose this particular dog based on well know bloodlines that are heart healthy with no SM in the bloodlines. However…this is my first time insuring a dog and as long as I am paying for insurance I figure I may as well have a plan that is capable of covering the unlikely should it happen…if that makes sense.
