My 2 year old boxer will be attending obedience classes with 20 other dogs and I wondered if this would be a good idea. He is up to date with all other shots, worming, flea treatments etc, I am just concerned about Kennel cough, or would you suggest anything else?

I’d definitely get the kennel cough and ask your vet if there is anything else your boxer may need. Have fun!!
yes, bordatella vaccine is important if it will be around other dogs. usually they administer it as part of the puppy shots tho. i would just make sure its utd before hand.
I’d do it just to be safe ^^ good luck with your boxer! They have one of the most expressive faces in the dog world in my opinion.
To be very honest the bordatella vaccine is really pretty worthless. It doesn’t prevent kennel cough and it only "helps" with 2-3 out of 32 strains. A dog still can and often does get kennel cough even after vaccianted, it still lasts just as long (3 weeks) and the dog will still need cough meds if it comes down with KC. In an otherwise healthy dog KC is self limiting and goes away within 3 weeks.
The bordatella vaccine isn’t recommended for all dogs anyway.it basicly is only required by some boarding kennels, groomers & the like.
I have never ever vaccinated any of my dogs for KC and never will. My dogs have a lot of exposure to other dogs and quite likely have built up natural immunity. I take my dogs to work with me at the vet hospital, compete in obedience & rally trials, show in conformation, do training classes, demos, parades, use my dogs as meet & greet dogs in AKC CGC tests, go to doggie camp, attend and participate in dog club events, etc.
