Well…i live in Los Angeles and my friend’s dog had puppies and she’s giving me one…
the thing is that i just found out that you need a license to own a dog.

So, how do you get (and where) a dog license in L.A and how much is it?

why should i pay for a dog license even after dog has died?

i have to pay a 300.00 fine for a non dog license but my dog had got hit by a car and died recently.Now the courts have put a hold on my drivers license because i haven’t payed to get my dog licensed. I don’t think i should pay anything though due to fact that my dog is gone,meaning dead, no longer here.etc. what should i tell the judge?

Can I license my 3 month old puppy even though he doesn't have rabies shots?

I have a 3 month old puppy and was told not to give him rabies shots until he was 6-7 months old. But where would I get a dog license, is he able to get a dog license, and is getting a dog tag the same as licensing a dog?

My whole life I never knew dogs needed licenses by law until the Animal Control came here because my german shepherd dog has been unknowingly going outside the streets. The Animal Control dude told my dad that my dog does not have a license..but that’s not my question.

I have another dog which is a chiweenie and my sisters been on vacation (she’s the owner). The Animal Control dude asked my dad if the chiweenie was licensed. I texted my sister and she does not know what a dog license is, the chiweenie has a "National ID #" tag from Banfield Hospital which is in PetSmart.

Long story short, is this national id # rabies vac tag on the chiweenie a license?
Thank you for the answers, my sister fails not licensing her dog. I fail too not knowing dogs need to be licensed…LOL.

Can I take unregistered dog to the vet for glaucoma testing?

My dog is a farm dog. He used to have a dog license/be registered but that was many years ago, so now he’s unregistered. He has not had a rabies shot in a few years either.

He’s old (about 14) but healthy. However, his eyes are cloudy and watery and he has a hard time seeing. I fear he has glaucoma and is in pain.

Can I take him to the vet to be looked at/treated even though he is not registered and has not seen a vet in years?

QUESTION ABOUT GETTING A DOG LICENSE?

I guess that since my dog is over 6 months now, he needs a dog license. I did not know about this until I received a letter in the mail stating that if I own a pet, I need to apply for a dog license. They said there will be a dog census, so anyone that doesn’t have their dog licensed after the 1st can be fined if it is found. I have no problem paying .50. The fact that this little city that I live in is just a bunch of thieves that just like to take money from people. I’ll pay 0 for a dog license, I don’t care of the price. I just really want to know if it is possible for me to go to another county and apply for a dog license there instead, rather than in my city where I live. The town clerk’s office where I live are all rude! You ask them a simple question – they are rude! I don’t even feel good about giving them , it just makes me sick to be honest.

I have family in other cities about 15 minutes from here (whether that makes a difference or not). The main question is trying to figure out if i can get my dog licensed through another town clerk beside where I live.
Cheesy, I couldn’t agree more! They (the Town, or State) they don’t care about the license – they just want to find a way to take people’s money! Bunch of crooks!

Why do I need a dog license and not my cousins?

I received a letter in the mail that I need to purchase a dog license for my dog. I talked to my cousins and friends about this and it seems like I’m the only one who received such a letter. I know it’s mandatory, but if I don’t really need one it seems like a waste. My dog’s not the type to run away from the house and bite others- she just runs away when she’s scared.
