Is it called just rabies vaccine or is there another name for it, when it is written down on a dogs vaccine record, thanks lot
Family has had dogs since I was a little kid and we never bought expensive dog food and all our dogs lived long happy lives. Was also told by a vet that they are all basically the same some just make the dog expel less waste.
We have two Goldens that are 1 year old. I literally HATE walking the boy because he is so very disobedient. He wants to pull me and HAS pulled both of our children down onto the pavement, so they are unable to walk the dogs at all. A good dog training book would be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 dogs, take them to the dog park and around other dogs often, One of the 2 sounds like he has a cough, the other does not. Just wondering if they can pick up kennel cough even if they have had all the immunizations? Just noticed it today, and…….yes I will be calling the vet 1st thing in the morning.

The people across the street have a pit bull that has already been cited, but they don’t seem to grasp the idea that they can’t allow it to keep coming on my property after me and my dogs. When I came home last night at 11 pm, the dog was at my front door, trying to get in. The owner tried to justify it by saying he was "just pissing on your tree". Not only has he been told by animal control, the sheriff and me that I can shoot the dog on my propery as a result of attacks, but he doesn’t get it that that tree is ON MY PROPERTY, and the dog is not on a leash. If it hadn’t been for my dogs alerting me, I would have gotten out of the car and left myself open for attack…again. I should have shot the damned thing!! It is suggested I find out who insures them and see if something can’t be done that way. His head is too thick to get it otherwise. Thanks.
I want my dogs to get the best nutrition possible without feeding a raw food or homecooked diet. I simply don’t have the time for either. Today while at my local pet food store I saw that kibble isn’t my only option, and that my other options might even be healthier. There is Artisan and Ziwipeak… Which I believe are both dehydrated. And supposedly healthier! Do you think dehydrated or freeze dried is better than even the highest quality kibble?
My vet said we can get our puppy spay (shes about 5 months), but my co-worker who has owned many dogs says it’s better to wait until after the first heat, becuase of hormones and such. Has anyone ever heard one way or another? I am going to talk to my vet on Friday when we bring her in, but wanted to hear some other experiences first. Thanks!
He little boy is sick… He’s going to the vet at 3.00pm today to have a check up. He just doesnt seem himself to me.. he’s couching a little, nose running etc… he doesnt seem to have a temperature and his nose isnt dry,but u can never be too careful!
I dont know anything about dog colds & flu’s and I have a couple of hours till we go off to the vet so I thought I may seek some info??
Do dogs need to be kept warm like humans do when they’re sick? like does he need a blanket or a jumper?
Any info would be great – especially so i know what to ask the vet etc…

Thanks so much Puppy Mommy. I amazes me that people WOULDNT take their dog to the vet… He had his kennel couch vaccine a month ago, so if its that hopefully because of the vaccine it wont be too hard to cure… He’s also weeping from the eyes which is worrying me. He’s a maltese cross but has never weeped from the eyes before (unlike my other dog who does). I noticed this morning that the weeping was quite bad so i wiped his eyes down with some warm salty water… He seems ok, just depressed and not like his usual self… I’m sure its nothing too serious but as a dog mummy i know when there’s something wrong with my bub…

Sorry, but i could never give my dog human medicine unless I was instructed to by a vet… It just doesnt seem right to me – i’m not a doctor or a vet so I cant treat him myself without knowing exactly what the problem is.

He’s a maltese cross.. 1.5 yrs old… He’s always lively and happy and bouncing around but he just wants to lay around now… Its hard to give more info, cos its like, you now when you KNOW ur dog, and u can just tell something doesnt seem right? Its like that.. He is coughing and his nose is running, but the mucus is thin and clear not yellow and gluggy..

We have returned from the ver and Frankie had conjunctivitis and canine flu. He’s on some doggy medicine and had some ointment for his eye, but he will be fine. Thanks guys!
I just logged in a few minutes ago and have already seen so many questions from owner’s who had no business letting their dogs get pregnant. Who can’t afford the litter. Who are now having problems and don’t know what to do. Yet they couldn’t afford the spay. Wouldn’t that have been cheaper to begin with?
How far back in years can you trace your dogs pedigree? I have traced most of mine back to the 1800′s.
I had posted a link to my one male’s pedigree on a reply to another question, but someone did not like it for some reason!! LOL Pedigrees are very important when it comes to genetics and breeding.
Hey, so I am a junior in High School and for my future I really want to be a dog trainer. But when ever i google "dog training schools" it just gives me links like if i wanted to take my dog to a training school. Please help me if you know of a college that specializes in teaching people how to train dogs or be a dog trainer. Thank you.
I bought my puppy 15 months ago at a pound (when he was 4 mo) and at the time he recieved his first rabies shot. I have not had a dog before but I was told he needs another one. Do i really need to?? He is not in company with other dogs. Is it too late to give him one if he does need it???
I know that between 8 – 14 weeks is the key window to socialize a puppy. But in this time, puppies haven’t had all their vaccinations yet! It’s important for puppies to meet lots of other dogs and people and go to new places, but how on earth are you supposed to do that without a dog getting some virus?
He has been vet checked and immunised and de sexed…but hes caught kennel cough…The pound said that we could give him linctus but its prob not really worth it has anyone heard of giving dogs honey? they also suggested maybe we try to do that for him????
