How to properly switch an adult dogs dry dog food?

My pitbull currently eats a certain kind of dry dog food. That said, I want to switch my dogs food to a more organic and higher quality dry dog food.
What is the proper routine/process to introduce the new dry food and how long is the process/routine?

Is Raw Diet for dogs with skin problems good?

I have a 5 yr old Boxer who has skin problems (hot spots, bumps, rashes, etc) I currently feed him Calf. Natural dry food and was thinking of switching to a raw food diet. I know it’s more money, but will it help with his skin probs? I have been to a pet allergist already and they seem to think it’s an allergy to chicken, but who knows. Could not give a def. answer for 0! Thanks

How much dog food should a Border Collie eat?

My Border Collie is 11 months old and a bit small for her size due to being mistreated by the person she was rescued from. She does not eat very much at all. I give her one cup of high quality dry food (Purina Pro Plan Selects for puppy) with a small scoop of wet food (Newman’s Own Organic dog food) every night and she usually only eats a small portion of it. She weighs 30lbs. How much SHOULD she be eating?

Can I switch my 1 month old puppy from esbilac formula to dry food?

I have two Lab puppies 4 wks old. They have been eating Esbilac formula. Should I go to Esbilac 2nd Step Formula? Or should I start them on a dry food for puppies and mix water? Also when they do start dry food should they have regular puppy food or large breed puppy food? Would you recommend Blue Buffalo?

Cat food ?

My oldest cat in the house is now 7 years old. I have 4 indoors right now. Up until about 6 months ago, they ate purina cat chow. After doing my homework and realizing how bad there food was and dry on top of it I changed. I changed to innova dry food and they were having no parts of it and actually my one cat landed in the emergency hospital because of it. To rich I guess. I switced to wellness wet food. Than I switched to chicken soup lite cause I wanted less of a calorie intake for them. As soon as I heard about the second recall I witched to innova wet food. Cats did well, gained weight again and than decided to go off there food. Bored I guess so as frustrated as I am, I said F-it and bought there old wet food to just get them eating again which is Friskies. They begin eating but one. As soon as my one sensitive cat smells wet food he runs. I just took him to the vets and hes fine. I gave him a handful of very bad dry fod for the cats outside and he ate it.
He wants dry food. Do you think my cats want there crappy food back cause they are so used to it there whole lives. They have all been with me since birth. Should I go back??? Remember good dry put my cat in the hospital and this was all gradual changes, I’m not dumb. I’m sick of all these changes and so are they. I want whats best for them even though I know there old food wasnt but least they ate everyday

What are your feelings about feeding dogs homemade dog food?

I have been flirting with the idea of making my dog homemade food and mixing it with his dry food. I have been buying wet food and mixing it with his dry food but the price of buying both is going up. What are your thoughts about this? I want to make sure that he is getting all of the nutrients that are needed in his daily diet.

What dry cat food is the best / worst from this list?

I understand the importance of canned food but I have one cat who absolutely refuses it and the other will only eat small amounts. ( I feed him Merrick and Wellness)

I also tried Raw food by Healthy Paws but no luck!

As for dry food..

My cats hate Wellness Core which I tried switching them to this week.

They like Iams Healthy Naturals they are currently on but I don’t feel good about feeding them this. ( any thoughts on this food)?

I have other kinds of dry foods I’m willing to try but wanted feedback first before I go out shopping.

I have a pet store near me called Global Pet Foods that sells these brands.

If you had to buy one of these dry foods,

Will a dog get sick from eating wet food if he only eats dry food?

My dog only eats dry dog food, but I thought he might like it if he had some wet food today, but my dad said it might make him sick as he only eats dry food.
I don’t want to switch I just wanted to give him a little bit of it.

In a dry food ingredient i was reading that it has ground whole wheat and Corn Gluten… is that ok?
