I adopted a dog not to long ago, and I have a partially fenced in back yard. I had made an appointment and met with a representative from invisible fence today.
The issue is that he quoted me 00 for less that 35 feet of invisible fencing. Since I rent my home I am not too fond of building a fence but I might have to resort to that. Does anyone know of any other alternatives that are not too expensive and will be reliable for containing my dog in the backyard?

When I plugged it in it started beeping. If it is broken can I fix it myslef? I do not even know where the wire runs. If I call the invisible fence company, does anyone know how much it would cost for them to come out and repair it?

I was wondering if there is some other way to cancel the signal from the invisible fence such as running it through some metal tubing or something. I am trying to "fence" in my backyard only and let the dog in and out of the back door still. I don’t want to run a double loop around the whole yard but I need to cancel the signal along the back of my house. any suggestions?

We are thinking about installing an invisible fence ourself to save money on the labor. We have never done this before, nor know anyone who has, so if I could get some advice that would be great.

i am currently condserdering purchasing a chocolate lab, but before i can do that i need to purchase and install an invisible fence. Can anyone give me an price estimate for 2 to 3 acres?
Or an estimate for any area will help as well? What is the best brand/company? And how dependable is invisible fencing?

This is a follow-up question from a previous question I asked about the Invisible Fence. I know for the next while I need to only transport my dog from the yard in my vehicle until I know she is trained. I wanted to know if anyone had any experience on training the dog to leave the yard on a leash to go for a walk. I already think it is going to be difficult to get her to go because she stays away from the flags and sound, but I need to find a way to take her for a walk. Anyone heard of using a towel and have them walk across it? I would carry her across, but she is going to be a big dog.

We have a invisible fence around our yard. My husband did alot of yard work last weekend and we have now realized somehow we have cut a wire, but we do not know where. The last time this happened they charged me 0 to come find it . It took the guy like 5 minutes. He had some sort of device that he walked around the yard with and it beeped where it was cut. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am interested in only the Invisible Fence brand and not any others. We had an IF installed and now someone we know is complaining that it can interfere with their pacemaker. IF’s website states that they have NEVER had a complaint about this, but I want to find out if this is really true. Have they really NEVER, ever had anyone complain about interference? My dog has a stronger invisible fence collar and is a lab but the fur around the zapper is falling off and she is itching it a lot and the skin is becoming slimy and red. what can i do to stop the irratation and help for the fur to grow back?

I have an Invisible Fence brand fence and two collars for my dogs. Both are set are the lowest setting possible. How do I adjust only one to a slightly stronger setting? Our new dog is so furry that she doesn’t even feel it. I know it’s low, I’ve tested it on myself enough times, and I also know it’s not supposed to hurt, it’s just supposed to get her attention. The dealer wanted 0 for this privileged information–can you believe it?

I would like to install a ground invisible fence but I want to install it along the edge of my six foot fence to keep my dog in the yard so instead in the ground the visible fence will be 6 FT above ground so will this work I think it wil . Thank you.

my fence area is 75ft*100ft = 7500qft and constructed from cedar dog ears so replacing each dog ears with 7ft ones will be very expensive.

I have a golden retriever and he’s really hiper so he runs around alot and sometimes just gets out of the yard. I’m so scared hes going to get out one day and get run over! So, how do you prevent your dog from escaping from your invisible fence?

My Border Collie aged 2 was trained to stay inside our invisible fence a year ago but the last few weeks she just runs out and takes the shock. It’s still the same power and frequency, she gets plenty of attention (frisbees, walks, etc) but she still bolts when a person is walking by. The mailman is very upset!
