What to do with stray cats?

There was a female cat left behind when a couple moved from our town. They lived next to us. The female cat is not spayed of course and it was left outside to defend for itself. Male cats come down near our house because they know there are females. The one female multplied into a bunch more, but now there are only two adult females left overall because the elements must have gotten the best of them. Those two females then had a litter of kittens each producing about 8-9 kittens. Again the elements took over and now there are four kittens left. Aside from that we had already caught two adults who unfortunately passed away due to health problems. We have been feeing them continuously since we knew they were there. My sister is verya tatched to them and now calls them her "outside cats". The male cats are coming around again meaning that the there are at least now 3 reproductive females, hence, more lil kittens. We have don’t really have a local spca, the cloest is a hr away and the so called organization around here will not return my emails when I ask for help with them. Anyway, my sisters wants to be able to keep them but they are wild now and they do have Feline Leukemia because the two that had passed away had it. I have two cats inside of my own. We are wondering how we can help them. She had plans of building a house-like building for them but would that work seeing how they are wild? What other options are there?

A few questions regarding cat vaccinations?

A friend found some kittens and I’ve just taken one of them from her. They were all taken to the vet just to make sure they were healthy but not given any shots. I think the kitty is about 6 months old. What kind of shots and tests should I ask the vet for?
I also have two other cats. One of them is almost two, I got him only a few months ago and I know he is not current on his shots. My other cat is 5 and occasionally goes outside, and though I got her all of her vaccinations at the proper times when she was young, she is no longer current on hers.
What kinds of vaccinations should I get for the older cats? or should I even bother at this stage for them?
Thanks in advance for the help.

We brought in two kittens to foster for a few weeks and we already have 4 healthy cats of our own. The lady at the cat charity came by today and informed me that the Kittens we are fostering might have ringworm..so we have isolated them now however they had a little bit of contact with our healthy cats.

How exactly is it transmitted and will our cats get ringworm???

Please give me the most consice answers possible…

Many Thanks,
xo

All the 5 pets I’ve owned (2 dogs and 3 cats) were adopted, never have I bought a pet from a breeder. And as much as I love puppys and kittens. (Only 3 were given to me as pups) I don’t want unwanted pets in my home.

4 kittens we were fostering had distemper. 3 past away. We took the one who survived home and we think she is better, but she may still be contagious. I have two cats of my own who are up to date with their distemper shots, can they still get the distemper? Also, they havent made contact but distemper is an air disease so that doesnt matter.

We took a stray cat, approximately 1 1/2 years old, to the vet for neutering on Tuesday. He’s still spraying everywhere. I know he may always spray, but I don’t know if it could still be a result of leftover hormones. He’s sequestered for now so he doesn’t start any territory wars with my resident cats, who were all neutered as kittens, before they reached sexual maturity and started spraying.

Feline Leukemia and litter?

I had a mother cat test positive for feline leukemia. There is a litter of kittens one week old. The vet says to put them all to sleep. Is this a normal recommendation? Is it possible they won’t all be feline leukemia postive?

How is a kitten diagnosed with feline distemper?

How much does it cost (about)?
Someone dropped off a kitten today (volunteer place for Friends of Pets, temp shelter thing) and said they thought it had distemper. It was purring and did not seem extremely sick when it arrived. We put it in a cat carrier so it wouldn’t infect the other kittens. Would we be better off testing it for distemper, putting it to sleep, keeping it isolated, or something else?

Thanks for any advice.

Can ringworm infest a carpet or beds or furniture?

My friend has a severe case of ringworm, which she didn’t treat promptly (she rescued two kittens who had them). Now she has it severly, the dog, and the three other cats have it (but the kittens are clear). The kittens were out occasionally out when infested, the dog and the other cats have been out. Could the carpet and the furniture have been infested with ringworm? If it has been, how do you clean the furniture and the carpet?

My momma cat and her kittens got ringworm from a farm kitten my husband brought in to save (it was starving), and now it’s turned into a disaster! The cat and 6 kittens are at the vet for treatment because I just couldn’t get it under control with cream for them, so I’ll be paying through the nose for that, but now I need to take care of the house so we don’t all get it. I am very upset! What can I do for carpet and furniture? I read to wash what you can with bleach, but I can’t do that for carpet and fabric! Will lysol spray kill the fungus???? HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP!

or putting it on them. I have several kittens and would like to give them away but they all have ringworm.

My kittens, who are 13 weeks old, had a distemper vaccination at 8 weeks and then again the other day. The vetrinarian suggested that they come back in two weeks for another distemper booster (this would be their 3rd in 4 months). Is this really necessary? They have received two already. I care about my kittens, but shouldn’t two distemper vaccinations be enough?

What are the chances if they get treated that they’ll live?

Vet tested my kittens for feline lukemia (they are 3 months old). I guess the test take about 9 minutes. The vet came in and said things looked good. Then about 12 minutes after the test he told me that there could be a chance they have it but he thinks there might have been a mess up on the test. Was told to keep kittens from other my other cats but they were already exposed to the kittens the day I adopted them from the animal shelter. I am just so worried about all of them.
