What age should you neuter a male kitten&is it humane?

Our cat is almost 11 mths and I am told his being a male and with us keeping him inside that he will spray urine all over and try to get out and is in danger of being injured fighting with other male cats when a female cat is nearby and in heat. I want to neuter him-but boyfriend says it seems inhumane and we should just let him out and be a cat. But so far kitty loves inside and is a people person! Is he old enough to be neutered? Does the procedure hurt a lot and what is recovery time?

How does the non clumping feline pine litter handle the cat poo?

I know it turns to sawdust with the urine but what happens with the poo? Does it just get dry and hard? We are trying to transition to this litter because scoop away is making us sick with all the dust! I am concerned though about the poop because this Kitty can really go! Since Feline Pine non clumping doesn’t clump what happens to the poop?

hi im 12 and have been crying for the past 3 days non-stop.
my kitty has feline leukemia. she is soooo skinny and will barly eat. and i reallly really REALLY dont want to see her die, putting her down or like this. please please help me!!!!
o yea. this is really hard for me also b/c i named her when i was 2!

Cat Food..?

Hi..
I have a question or two about cat food,
What’s the best brand for cat food? I’m looking for one who can give my kitty all the nutrition she needs.
I already give her more than one brand, Whiskas, Purina, Kitekat.. but is there a better brand out there that would keep my cat healthy??
Also, how much should I feed her? she’s about one year old.

And, which is better, dry or canned food, & why?

My kitty is sick and I need to make some money to pay for vet bills, any ideas?

My kitty has been diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. She is home and gets two medications twice a day, and she gets subQ fluids twice a week. The vet bills are really adding up and I need to make some extra money to pay for them. I also have to get blood work done for her quite often to check her kidney levels. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do to raise some money I would really appreciate the suggestions. She is my world and I want to be able to do everything that I can for her. I do work a full time job at a financial company but I just don’t make enough to cover everything. Please help!!!
My vet doesn’t do a payment plan, and I have used care credit but it is now maxed out along with my credit cards. I am looking for a part time job but haven’t had much luck with it yet. It’s hard because I want a part time job to make money to take care of the things that she needs, but I don’t want a second job because then I am away from her even more and I hate the thought of that. I try to be with her as much as possible. Thanks for the suggestions. I hope she continues to do well, she is my everything

Can the feline leukemia vaccine cause heart disease in a cat?

My cat had his leukemia shot about a month ago and hasn’t been the same cat. We took him to the vet and they’re checking his heart. Why would they check his heart. Could he be dying I’m so scared I can’t lose him. If u can tell if that shot causes heart disease please do.

Symptoms
Not eating as much but still is eating
Hardly going to the bathroom
When he walks upcsteps he favors the wall side but does not lean up against it.
Please if you know if the shot cause heart failure or a disease please let me know

I can’t lose my kitty he’s only 6 years old he’s so young:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( !!!!!!!!!!!!

How long do male hormones affect neutered cats?

Our youngest cat was neutered yesterday & is already back to his sweet self. We had to delay his surgery til after the holidays & he’d already begun to "spray". It’s been over 10 years since we’ve had a kitty altered because this has usually been done @ the rescue but we found this kid as a stray. So, can someone remind me, how long will it be before he consistently thinks *inside* the box?

How long is my kitten contagious with ringworm after treatment begins?

I have read so many articles that say animals are contagious with ringworm for 3 weeks and some say months after starting treatment… So I had my kitten shaved and she has been dipped in lime sulfur dip 3 times. She has also been bathed with a ketoconazole shampoo recently. It has been about three weeks since she was diagnosed and received the first dip. I need a kitty sitter for the weekend and want to make sure she will be okay around other cats!

How do they spay a cat with Pyometra?

My kitty has Pyometra, and she’s a year old. She has to get a spay tomorrow, and I want to know how spaying a cat with Pyometra is different from spay a cat who has no infections. I just want to be sure that she is going to be okay, and I’d like to know what is going to happen when my kitty is gone in surgery.
