My daughter has a mysterious rash that came from a bug bite. I’m worried that it’s Lyme disease. Do I need to take her to the ER tomorrow, or should I wait until Monday? I called today to make an appointment, but there was nothing available until Wednesday. How urgent is this?
I’ve been pulling ticks off the kids and dog all day. In the last few days, the ticks have gotten bad.

the dog is being treated for cancer as well. and seems healthy. Also the dog is with our son and daughter in law in their home all the time. We are concerned about our grandchildren getting lyme disease by playing with the dog who has a wound that wont heal it is bandaged most times and saliva contact with the kids kissing and hugging the dog.

I have a small, red, circular rash on the right side of my abdomen. I believe it has expanded a little over the past week. It’s likely that it’s lyme disease. My question is: do you think it’d be OK to wait till tomorrow to have it checked or should I got to the Urgent Center right away?

He was given an injection & antibiotics.What if that injection had the strain of Lyme disease in ln it like the flu. I used Frontline Plus about 4 days prior so I an even more concerned. Also the Vet did not do a blood or urine test-only stool for other diseases.

My dog has been diagnosed with lyme disease, apparently with a high positive (the number they gave was 253). She has no symptoms at all, but they’re putting her on antibiotics for the next month.

Anyone have any idea what the chances are that this could have affected her kidneys or heart? Anyone have any other thoughts on lyme disease? The info I’m reading on the net is all very conflicting and I’m very worried about my girl.

My 2-year-old daughter had a tick bite two weeks ago and a red bulls-eye rash appeared within a few days. We took her to the doctor immediately who diagnosed it as Lyme Disease. She is currently taking a course of antibiotics but has been crying that her back hurts. The doctor told us to give her Ibuprofen for the joint and muscle pain. Is this going to last forever?

is it ok to drink a couple of beers while taking DOXYCYCLINE for lyme disease, there is nothing on the prescription saying anything about alcohol

Is there any other medicine they give for Lyme disease? This one makes menextremely nauseous. And makes me vomit. What else can I take for a Lyme disease antibiotic?

The cdc report say there is only around 50 cases of reported lyme disease. They number seams way off.
That was 50 cases reported for the state I live in.

I believe the two tests were the IDT (or IGT?) and the Western Blot test. What’s the difference between the two and does it matter which one I use?
I know what Lyme disease is, what my question is asking is what the difference between the two tests that tell you how bad the infection is.

If it can be treated, how does the treatment vary between the two?
I just want to add that my dog is tested twice a year and so far has never tested positive. He has been on Frontline Plus since I brought him home and has just started the lyme vaccine a month ago.

This was a question out of curiousity because I just read another answer that mentioned advanced lyme disease.
