So we went to the vet yesterday to get my 2 month almost 3 month old golden retriever his rabies shot & lyme. & The vet gave us a puppy kit full of information & she recommend us to get Trupanion Insurance. I googled it & did a lot of research but still Im so confused. It says it covers all those illness & accidents at 90% does that mean your still going to have to pay 10% for his accidents & sugerys & illness, which you are paying anyways every month? & if let say i go to the vet & they do his wellness exam & give him his shots that he needs do they cover 90% of that too & whats the deductible for exams & shots or surgery’s & illness??? even though you get 90% covered off what? vet appointments & emergency??
Or should I get Embrace ?

he hasnt ever shown any symptoms of lyme before. he is still active and playful. i have not changed his food, do you think it is lyme related?
my dog was treated for lyme with antibiotics for 6 MONTHS"(vets idea). still has it so i took him off thinking it was bad idea for him to be on it so long. they are small clumps of fur. he dont even look patchy yet, but i see them around the house.

A few of my joints started aching recently and I was bit by a tick about 3 weeks ago. For some reason my doctor didn’t want to do a test for Lyme Disease but she wasn’t sure. Is there any reason not to get tested?
(One of my symptoms is that every morning when I wake up, the knuckles of my right hand ache.)
Thanks!

Have been treated for Lyme at least 6 times in the past 8 years (have lost count), last June I tested negative despite the normal, and now expected symptoms.
Now I have it again, and blood tests are pending. I took a further step and was referred to a neurologist, who suggested I was imagining my symptoms. I spent an hour attempting to explain to him that there is no imagining the symptoms, I am not imagining my arthritic back, my dilated pupil, the numbness around my eye.
Is this possible? False negative tests? My worry is that I will test false again and get referred to a Psych, which I will refuse.
Thanks.

Before I get started I want to say, I’m not a bad pet parent by asking this question. My vet "MATCHES" prices and since I am on a budget I can’t afford just buying the meds from my vet. I’m thankful that they do this. My Shih Tzu uses Advantix and I hope to find a 4- 6 month supply. They also said I need Guaifensen/Dextromethrpn 10mg, but I am not having any luck finding this at all. I’ve been putting my pup in doggy daycare 2-3 times a week and he’s developed what they think is Kennel cough…I feel horrible and I thought I was doing a good thing to have him socialized with other smalls dogs like him.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for you help and answers.
My dog has had all of his shots:
bordatella
parvo
lyme
distemper
coronavirus
and he just had his first rabies shot. I still don’t understand how in the world he get kennel cough to begin with. I have him on the wellness plan at Banfield so he gets his shots regularly.

I’ve been reading past questions on yahoo answers about tick bites and Lyme Disease and a bunch of people were acting like you AUTOMATICALLY get Lyme Disease!!! That cant possible be true! Is it??
I mean, I know you CAN get Lyme Disease but every single tick couldnt possibly have it!

Even if a person is cured of the disease, I would think their blood would be rejected anyway due to the Lyme antibodies being present.

My husband was just diagnosed with lyme disease. He is almost 100% bedridden with excessive fatigue, aching, swollen glands, and 102 fever. How long will it take for him to see improvement enough to function again. I know it will take around 1-2 weeks to feel 100% improvement, but I was wondering how long until he’s feeling well enough to not be miserable? Thanks.

Do you know anything about lyme disease testing or symptoms that would warrant getting tested?

I suffer from long term lyme disease. The joint pains can be overwhelming. I was wondering if anyone has ever been prescribed painkillers or any other type of medication to deal with the aches and joint pains associated with Lyme

I went into the woods behind my house and there is long grass before you get to the path part. So when I sat down to draw I found three crawling up my legs and another when I got up. By the time I left I had picked at least 8 off of me. None of them bit me but I’m paranoid that I missed one and its crawling around my room. I have one friend who got lyme disease and I know that I don’t want it.
