I’ve heard that you can get lyme disease from many different animals, but can you get it from a house pet? Even though you put the flea/tick medicine on him every month? THANKS!!
i had it about 10 years ago, the bullseye rash and everything, the doctor gave me some medicine and it went away. today i saw a book in borders called "living with lyme disease" or something, then i asked someone about it and they said if you have it once, you always have it, is this true? and what are the after effects?
I just took my eight week year old kitten to the vet yesterday for her first set of vaccinations which included the following in one shot: Distemper, Panleukepenia, Chlamydia, Calici and Rhinovirus. She also took an oral medicine to prevent her from getting worms.
She slept most of yesterday and today she isn’t letting many people pet her. Is it possible that her thigh is sore from the shot? Anytime we try to pick her up she cries and I think that may be it or maybe shes just feeling a little sick?
I’ve been told that this behavior is normal and to simple just make sure she keeps eating/drinking kitten milk or water. I just want to know if shes sore or possibly angry at us for giving her her vaccinations.
My 17 wk old puppy got vaccinated on Saturday and Sunday he started getting diarrhea which is still happening today. When i got my puppy he already had his first shots and according to the vet i missed his second sequence of shots so he had to double up on his shots this time to keep him on schedule or else the vaccines wont work. I must admit i dont know much about vaccinations so im a little confused. My puppy is eating ,drinking and playing normally though besides the fact that he has diarrhea. I will probably call the vet tomarrow for help and today i got some anti diarrhea medicine from petsmart called Pet Pectillin which is supposed to contain pectin and kaolin. Im guessing its like kaopectate for dogs. Is this a normal side affect ? My puppy has another vaccination in 3 weeks and i dont want to put him at risk of having an adverse reation. Thanks in advance !
My sister needs a lawyer for veterinarian malpractice in the Tamp – St. Pete area in Florida. She took her dog to the vet and they overdosed him and he’s now in a dog hospital with even more problems than he started with and they told her it was because of the medicine the other veterinarin gave the dog, that it was too much and too strong for him. So she’s having to pay even more money for this. She’s already paid about a thousand dollars. I know that may sound rediculous for a dog but it’s a part of their family.
If you know of any please give their names and numbers. Thanks!!
Ok I know my dog has worms my friend is a vet and she agree’s with me. He get the hiccups like crazy, more often than most this happens in the morning time when he wakes up he drinks alot of water then plays and throws up. The biggest sign is when he rubs his ass on the floor.so she’s brining medicine from the vet hospital for him tomorrow. But im scared i might have worms my family has no health insurance righ now so I cant afford to go to the dr’s. I feel like im always haungry because this weird feeling in my chest and throat so im wondering about that. I try not to let him kiss my face but he does sleep in the same bed as me and cuddles up to me at night. What Do you guys think?
I am 14 and going into high school next year and I want to go to a nice college in the future but I want to be a veterinarian. What colleges are there in Michigan that has veterinary medicine? I want to try and choose a college now so I can prepare for it.
i just got lyme disease and i just experienced some pain in the joint in the back of my leg(which i know is normal for lyme disease) and i have been getting small headaches. should i worry(even though i am on medicine) or just let it be taken care of?
I have a cat, and I know it has worms but I have been giveing it round worm medicine for the past month. Am I giveing her the right medicine or should I be treating her for a different worm. How much will it cost to go to a vet and get her checked out and medicated? My daughter really loved this cat and if any thing happens she will be devistated!!! so I appreciate the help! thanks
I’m a Japanese citizen but I’ve been living outside of Japan most of my life so I only know basic~conversation level Japanese;I can’t write/read ALL kanji,I only know some of the kanji that I commonly see/write.My dream has been to become a Veterinarian but I would like to live near my family here in Japan if possible, especially since the person I will marry lives here also and his family lives here too. We would like to stay in Japan if possible. I could become a Veterinarian in a Japanese Vet. Clinic, but I think it would be extremely hard for me to get accepted/graduate from a Japanese Veterinary school, while I think it would be also hard to find a job as a Veterinarian or similar in Japan after graduating from an American college.Has anyone been in this situation? What should I do? Do I just need to cope with not living near my family while I work in America as a Veterinarian w/my husband or does anyone know if I can become a Vet. for ex. on an American base in Japan?
I would like to add that the reason why I think it would be hard to study Japanese and become a Veterinarian in Japan is because I only have a basic knowledge of speaking and writing Japanese, I know that anything is possible if I try hard and I could study Japanese while I am studying to become a Veterinarian, but my worry is, that I would waste my time and money by doing two very difficult tasks, trying to learn a new language, especially a language like Japanese where you can’t write using the alphabet, you have to learn a whole new set of characters over 1000 in all, while trying to study Veterinary medicine which is hard itself…I have heard that it is more difficult to become a Veterinarian than it is to become a normal Doctor…sometimes this makes me depressed but I always try to keep my hopes up and I am trying my best to try to become a Veterinarian, right now, I am saving my money to go to college and I am also studying Veterinary Assistance. Please give me some advice!

It couldn’t be more clear that this is only a temporary measure, intended to fail and wipe out private insurance, leaving socialized medicine as the only alternative.

I’m thinking of a career in veterinary medicine, but I am still deciding if I would be good at it. I didn’t really think of becoming a Veterinarian until now, so my high school biology grades are not very good and I figured I could just work harder in undergraduate school. I wanted to take AP Biology my senior year but the class is now full which is really unfortunate. I’m mostly worried that I wouldn’t get into Veterniary School for graduate school. What happens if I do pre-veterinary medicine as a major and I don’t get into graduate school!? Do you think I would be okay at this subject, based basically on what I said before?
Also, what is the difference between being a Vet Technician and an actual Vet?
Oh, and I am not very strong at mathematics, but I figured I could get better in college?
