Feline Leukemia, our cats refuse to eat?

a month ago we took in our cat to get fixed at the animal shelter. She also had a litter of 6 kittens at the time and since they weren’t weined yet the guy said he had to take the kittens as well until they were weined and ready to be up for adaption. We couldn’t afford to keep the kittens, but we told the guy that we wanted our cat back when it was time. He said no problem.

Well last friday my Mom and I took a trip down to the animal shelter to see how our cat was doing. We couldn’t find her in any of the kennels so we asked some lady and she looked up her name in the computer and unfortunately she told us that our cat and her kittens had to all be put to sleep because they were tested positive for leukemia.

we have 2 other cats that came the mother cat. We’re worried about them because we can tell that they aren’t feeling good. Today my younger one threw up and the older one hasn’t been eating hardly anything for the past 2 weeks. & we think they have the same illness. plz help
sorry but we can’t afford a vet
Okay look please don’t blame me for our cat getting pregnant because she got out by accicident! and don’t call me irresponsible and cruel because I am trying my BEST to keep these 2 other cats healthy! I pet them every day, give them love, I give them catnip once in a while and I play with them to keep them happy! my aunt gave me 0 dollars for birthday money to get her fixed and get her shots so she can come back to us until we found out she was put to sleep! There is no way i’m giving up my other two cats unless I KNOW they have this virus so please stop with the remarks! IM ONLY 14!! I love my cats to death so leave me alone!

My husband and I are just starting out and are trying to develop a budget for our living expenses. We are about to move into an apartment, and before we sign a lease, we want to make sure we have our financial bases covered. So far, these are the areas we have considered:gas, phone, car insurance, gym, medical, food, utilities, and spending cash. Is there something we are missing? (My mom suggested renters’ insurance, and we have life insurance with our employees.) Is there anything else we should be accounting for? We do not have any children or pets. Thank you, I appreciate your time!

I’ve had my pet bunny for about 2-3 years now, and he’s starting to shed a lot of hair. I think it’s the undercoat that he’s shedding, but the hair is getting to be a real nuisance (sp.?). How do I either stop the shedding or control the little hairs floating around my house?

Added Info:
I got my rabbit from my friend who’s bunnies "reproduced." Her mom told me it was a boy, and since I don’t know how to check, I’m took her word for it. Thanks

My dogs leg is limping?

Could it be b/c he has stitches?

**I was going to the vet yesterday but for an aquard, unusually, never happened before reason, the vet was off!
They didn’t even tell us prior!**

I have a contract with that vet for health insurance with my dogs and my mom says we have to wait till the vet comes back on Sun. b/c she is not going to spend more than she has to!

SO….. Scrappy is limping on his hind foot and he has stitches on the leg,Could it be it hurt him to step on it b/c it stretches the skin?
Excuse ME!
Do not talk bad about my mom!
She is my mom so I respect that!
Please just don’t say anything about my mommy!

Will my new cats be at risk for feline leukemia?

My mom’s cat is feline leukemia positive. She came and picked it up last night to bring it to her house and with it, brought its food dishes, litter box, etc.

I am planning on adopting two new cats today, both negative for the disease. I got rid of everything that the cat used – dishes, placemats, old brushes, etc. and scrubbed almost every floor with Pine Sol disinfectant solution and then sprayed Oust disinfectant throughout the house and on the couches. I’ve bought all new litter boxes, litter, etc. and am going to vaccuum and clean the upstairs area (where the cat didn’t go as often) today.

Is there any chance my cats will get the virus?

There is an outdoor stray cat in our backyard the old cat played with and I think it is positive…I’m going to move its cat house towards the back of the yard and make sure its food supplies are kept in the garage or basement to eliminate any transfer of the virus.

Thank you! <3
To the second answerer: The cat no longer lives at my house and the new cats will be indoor cats, so there’s no integration with Feline Leukemia positive cats.

<3 Thanks for everyone’s help!

In your opinion, what is the best dog to have in my situation? Please read info below.?
Me and my mom just recently lost our pit bull of 15 years, sweetest dog in the world. But we don’t want a little dog, and we don’t want an aggressive ‘type’ dog. Maybe a medium or large sized sweet dog. One that can be obedient and loyal. We are stuck and don’t know what breed to pick. We are only two girls living together and cannot handle an agressive dog and can’t get home owners insurance with any of the 7 aggressive dogs. Can you please help us out , it would be much appreciated.

Additional Details
I would also like a dog with MINIMAL shedding, and a dog that will be indoors when were indoors, and will be outside when we are not home. I’d like a dog with not many health problems, and i DON’T Want a little toy dog, i wan’t a BIGto medium sized loyal dog.
HELP ME OUT PLEASEE!!!!

So like I stated previously, i’m getting a horse trailer this weekend, I’ve never owned one myself, so I’m learning a lot about them. My boyfriend just got a truck with insurance on it, so my question is, does the insurance of the truck towing it cover the trailer, or do I have to pay insurance on my trailer? I do not pay for my car insurance, for the car is half my mom’s, so would I just be able to go out and get trailer insurance if that’s the case? I’m not sure how all that works. Please explain if you can! Thanks!

Two or three months ago I rescued two beautiful 6 month old kittens. I got them neutered, took them for vaccinations (they got rabies and feline leukemia), dewormed them etc. I love these cats like they are my babies. They are very playful, active, have pink gums, eat normally, happy, and the vets said everything looks fine. HOWEVER, I have not tested them for feline leukemia, even before giving them the vaccinations because like i said, I love them too much and if I find out then it will feel like death.

Even if they do go on to live for several years after the diagnosis, I will never stop thinking about it and cry nonstop. I already have depression. There’s no way i can handle the news. I don’t want to know at all. Besides, there’s only a slight chance they might have it right? They were so young and they look perfectly fine.
They have nice bowel movements, they never vomit, never get lethargic, never have diarrhea or anything of that sort.
I believe I saw their mom once, she looks very healthy too and she’s old and still alive. Ahh idk. I don’t think it makes a diff. whether i do the test or not. Either way, they’ll still get better treatment, food, etc.
They’re indoor cats

I am staying with my parents while I am hunting for a house and I have a cat. Today my mom’s cat was diagnosed with feline leukemia and I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not it could be transmitted without any type of sexual contact. Her cat is about 5 months old and a female. She probably contracted it at birth from her mother. Mt cat is male and 5 years old but is fixed so i don’t think they will have sexual contact. My mom didn’t think to ask if my cat could get it. Does anyone know if it can be transmitted other ways?

5 months ago, I got a dog for my elderly mom who lives alone. I had a small problem though b/c under my mom’s lease, no pets are allowed. This lease came from 40 yrs ago. I never thought about it bc there are pets in the building (dont know their stories). Super was kind enough to let me give it to my mom. Since then, it’s been neutered and vaccinated (+rabbies). Now, I wonder if I should register b/c I don’t want to risk managment finding out nor the city investigating whether the address (my mom’s) i write down is legit in having pets. Any advice? And yes, you can blame me for giving the dog in and such if you wish, but I would appreciate an answer.

Fresh Step bad for Kittens?

I’ve heard that litter is toxic to kittens, especially the clumping kind. My mom got some new litter for my kittens today and it was Fresh Step. Before today my kittens had been using an all natural wood based chip litter (It had Disney’s ARistocats on the bag) which they had taken to quite well. After that we got them a non-clumping flakey cheap brand liter that they took to also.

My girl kitten, Morgana shows very little interest in the liter. She’s only just now learning to do her business and run. My boy, Merlin used to just do his business and run also, however, since my mother bought the Fresh Stop Merlin keeps trying to EAT the liter, not poo/pee in it! Though he peed in it ONCE so that is really gross that he is trying to eat slightly used liter! :/

After hearing liter was toxic to kittens I panicked and pulled the liter out of his mouth every time he would bite it. I sit beside him when he is in the box and EVERY time he attempts to eat the liter and I take it away and he gets fussy.

So is it bad if my Merlin eats the Fresh Step liter? He never ate liter before but he seems intent on taking nibbles on the FS everhy time he is in contact with it. He even tries to lick the dusty residue off the side of the bag holding the liter in the tray (for easy liter removal lol). I don’t want him to get sick or have any issues. Is it that FS has some sort of attractive scent that smells tasty to him?

Either way the FS is about to be tossed out when I can get some more of the wood liter they had previously (tomorrow). I just want to know if the little bits he has managed to ingest before I could get them away from him will hurt him…

Thanks for any help!
