Even though it really is "earth friendly"…I think it’s kind of odd.

My vacuums always break. I want something good on floor and carpet and that can handle the pet hair. I like the Hepa-filter idea but not a neccessity. Any suggestions?

We have a Kirby and a Dyson and they both suck. It doesn’t even look like I vacuumed after going over the area three times. Maybe a specific brand/model designed for pets fur/hair?
I guess we have a Kirby and Hoover (not a Dyson). I spent 30 minutes trying to vacuum a 10ft x 10ft area and I finally gave up. The Kirby works wayyyy better than the Hoover but there is still white pet hair on the almost black carpet! The lighting sucks so it’s easy for me to not notice. I’ll check out the Dyson animal one. I’ll probably have to save up for whatever one I wanna get!

My landlord installed carpet on our outdoor porch. It’s the kind with the smallest type of brisles. We have a white dog who is shedding a lot and the carpet is full of hair that we cannot remove by simply vacuming. Is there a way to remove pet hair from carpet? Do you know of any powders or carpet sprays that will work? Thanks!
Thanks for all your answers. I will try them all and pick the suggestion that works the best as the best answer. The exception will be to get rid of the dog simply because my dilema is to get rid of the dog hair already on the carpet and unless the hair jumps back on the dog as I take him away then that answer is no help for me, but thanks anyways.

Hoping to get some suggestions from pet owners that have been lucky enough to find a good vacuum cleaner for pet hair and has lasted the test of time as well. Thanks,

I have an Australian shepherd and two cats. I want to get microfiber furniture (the cats are not declawed). I want to know is this the most durable fabric for my money? Also, what color should I pick so pet hair won’t really be too noticeable? I can’t really prevent the animals from getting on the couches because they sleep on it at night and during the day when I am at work. So:
Best fabric?
Best color?
Cleaning suggestions?
Also, I do not want to put a furniture cover over the couches. Thanks.

its new, and it looks like it will work well, the pet hair goes in a plastic clear container as you roll across the furniture

Looking for a unit that will hold a decent charge and has the power to remove the pet hair from furniture. Ease of use will be a big plus. Thanks to all in advance for your input!

I am considering three vacuum’s-
Infinity NV31 Upright Vacuum and
Roomba Sage for Pets and
Roomba Discovery for Pets.
Does anyone have any experiance with these vacuum’s? What makes the Sage different than the Discovery (besides price)? Has anyone bought the Infinity NV31? I have a Golden Retriever with A LOT of hair. I need something that will pick it up. I am not paying for the Dyson so no need to mention that.
Also, has anyone tried the Scooba? Does it work and does it pick up pet hair or does it get clogged? Thanks!

I never had this problem with my old top-loader (it had a lint trap). With this washer, though, from day 1 my clothes have come out with these lint/hair balls firmly stuck to them. (Sometimes they look like little laundry spiders. Alas, they don’t come off in the dryer.) I’m interested in hearing about what other people have tried–I’ve heard about velcro balls that are tossed into the wash but have yet to read any comments from someone who has actually tried them.
All the answers I’ve received so far indicate that I should (a) get rid of my pets and/or (b) clean my clothes of all pet hair before putting them into the washer (meaning that by making the switch to a front loader, I’ve essentially increased my own work load).

I have a dog (mainly white hair) and a cat (black-haired) so my clothes are constantly covered with their hair! It’s annoying, because even when they come right out of the dryer after being washed, they still have hair on them. What is the best lint roller or other remover you have used to take pet hair off of your clothes? Thanks!

I have 2 cats and a dog. I love wearing fleece coats, they’re so comfy! But i get pet hair on them and seriously stress out trying to get it off, and not just fleece but all of my clothes. We brush our pets regularly to try to limit the amount of shedding but regardless we still have it really bad. I’ve used the roll on tape to try to remove the hair but it doesnt work well…any other suggestions?
