Needing help with money related stuff?

Im somewhat clueless when it comes to what i have to look forward to when i move out.
Im moving out with my boyfriend after college and we are going to get an apartment to start out with..

I know we need to pay on these:

Car insurance
Health insurance
Renters insurance
college debt

Rent
Electric
Water

Gas
Food
Cable

Pets
Clothes
Emergencies
Plus misc. things

If together we are making 30,000 total a year, are we gonna be put in debt? (other than college)
I know life isnt going to be that simple.. especially with so much to pay.. i was just wondering if we would be doing good with 30,000 a year
And this is just us.. no kids

Why are so many people against breeders?

I have been breeding rabbit for 3 years now, and have raise 11 litters, i breed for show, breeding and pets. I do not do it for the money, since there is no money is breeding, and all my rabbits are well fed and cared for. I do sell the babies for money, and try to cover feed costs with the money i make on the babies i sell, but I’m not in this for the money, and most breeders aren’t either, alot of breeders breed for show. so i ask again why are so many people against breeders?
I breed for show, and i find homes for all my un wanted rabbits

They will not let you read the policy until you purchase the product. I would like to read the policy, can anyone let me see?
Yea, I just would like to know specifically what is covered, etc. They will not allow you to view the policy until you purchase it… so they say, for the fear of other insurance providers biting their style. The company has excellent reviews at www.petinsurancereviews.com, however that means nothing until you can read the policy. I personally chose Pets Best for my English Bulldog pup. Any opinions on Pets Best?
PS. I won’t put the money for the insurance into a seperate account and then pay out of it when vet bills come. This is because I love to shop! I’m best off purchasing a policy, thanks! :)

isnt there any low cost pet care?

im so tired of how high pet care is lately. i just had to put down my cat today and its heart breaking. he had a urinary blockage and required a specific surgery. i took him to the ASPCA thinking they could help. the total to help him cost over 3000$. its just crazy. maybe its because it was in new york? where do people go to save their pets? has the world gone crazy? now i know how people feel about insurance in general. its just so depressing, to feel like you cant do anything and have no options left.
i should add, he was 14.
i also want to add, i did have pet insurance, but the battles to get reimbursed were just crazy. they hardly reimburse you anything for routine exams, let alone surgeries. i just dont get it. how do people afford these kinds of surgeries for pets?

Dog owners I have an important question!?

Hi, so I have a house that I rent and the people living in the house have been complaining that at night, they get very itchy and that the carpet itches, blah blah blah.
They have a dog and they say that when the dog comes inside the house from being outside it has ticks.
I suppose the problem in the house is the dog bringing in the ticks.
I was going to ask them today for the dog’s vaccinations.
I have never had a pet, so I wanted to know, do you guys regularly take your pets to the vet?
How often?
What other things can I ask these people for?
Regular vet papers?
I don’t know, help me please.
Thanks.

pet insurance annual limits???

I am planning to get my 5 months old puppy his pet insurance. I am looking into Petplan, Petfirst, and Embrace Pet Insurance. Just wondering if anyone has their pets under these insurance companies and would love to comment on them. Also I am planning to get him the basic plan. Most annual limits are 00 to 000. Do you think 00 for the little guy would be enough? He’s been pretty healthy. He did get a nasal infection that cost me 0 with medication. From this incident, I am a bit worry for anything unpredictable illness that will pop up in these next few years. Can anyone tell me what is their coverage limit for their pet insurances?
i have a samoyed/chow chow mix. i just a student working part time. i’ve been thinking about getting insurance since i don’t want any unexpected illness/surgery happening where i have to put my entire life saving into saving my dog. i rather have the insurance cover this.

Circumstances I have are pretty different than usual so I figured I would ask.

We already have dogs and I do the majority of the care-taking of them so I have proved that I can be responsible for the dogs. This dog I want is an adult dog I have been around for 2+ years but owned by someone else, my parents have met this dog and the current owners and like them.
The owners are getting rid of the dog due to new baby and the dog has a minor health problem, NO behavior issues.
My parents thoughts are that we don’t need another pet, but there were already plans to get me another pet as one of mine passed away recently.
Things I can already promise that parents would agree as true:
-I will walk this dog EVERYDAY
-I will do any training still needed on the dog
-The dog can be crated when not watched, we already have a crate of appropriate size.
-I can clean the yard for all dogs in the summer(Still in school)

Anything else I should do? And how should I initiate conversation about it?
I haven’t actually asked my parents or brought it up at all yet so I don’t know how they’d feel at all, the part I added about them saying that we already have enough pets was before one sadly passed away.

The suggestion of food is good, I can help pay for the food. The transfer of ownership would cost us nothing at all and the health issue it has is a slight hip problem just beginning to surface and will not require any treatment for several years.
I’m a junior in high school so by the time it requires treatment it will be solely my responsibility.

I know the idea of everybody neutering their pets is unrealistic, but I’m not looking for realism here.
Right now about six to eight million cats and dogs enter shelters each year, and three to four million cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters each year, but WHAT IF we all spayed and neutered our pets?
We can’t neuter all of them though. If we did they’d all die out.

please help, question about state agencies?

1. You have no health insurance and you are unemployed. Where can you go in your state, county, or city for medical services?
2. You have a friend who is despondent and wants counseling. What state, county, or city agencies provide counseling services?
3. What agency in your state, county, or city monitors the health standards of restaurants?
4. What agency is responsible for licensing pets and ensuring that they are vaccinated for rabies?
5. What agency monitors the need for vaccinations for infectious diseases, like flu?

To start off my puppy has this cold that all my household (including pets) have. I bought a 7 in 1 vaccination to give him because being 3 months and out of the pound he hasn’t had any. On the package it says to only give to healthy dogs. With his cold I was worried to do so. I went online to the website of the vaccinations and it also said that it isn’t reccomended to give to young dogs? Anyways, I figured I could give him an alavert and maybe his cold symptoms would go away, this website said it was perfectly safe if I gave him half and he seemed to be acting like his peppy self afterwards until he threw up. My friend says Due to the fact he hasn’t had any vaccinations he hasn’t the immune system to work against the medicine so it came back up, and then said I should still give him the shot later tha night. What do I do?

pets cause cancer?? what would you do ?

okay i had several emails this morning from family members talking about avoiding cancer ect.

so i pulled out a book titled "cure for all cancers" which they give you diet plans and tell you the things that can cause it (pretty much everything)

i was surprised to find that dander from pets is considered a cancer causer when pets usually HELP people with health issues such as high blood pressure and depression. i find it hard to believe myself.

the book recommends getting rid of your pets and living in a sterile environment and completely remodeling your average every day home from the plumbing to walls. (copper, brass and bronze are cancer causers?)

would you give up your pet if you had cancer and may or may not go into remission?
if you feel you wont go into remission would you rehome your pet and remodel your house?

i know a guy who lived by this book and survived he had lung cancer hes been in remission for 5 years without a single sign.
bassets: didnt say i believed it but i find it strange. im not getting rid of my dog because of it. nor remodeling my home. i find this curious is all as to why someone would believe this. as for the survivor he refuses to own pets because of it

Rabies vaccinations, what do you know about them?

I’ve learned that if you do not get treated immediately after being exposed to Rabies, that you will die. There is apparently no cure for this.

This curiosity comes from an episode of "Killer Outbreaks" from Animal Planet and I found it OnDemand through Xfinity/Comcast. In which a 20 year old male died of what was thought to be a cocaine overdose, but here, he was infected with Rabies. His organs were harvested, without any knowledge of the virus, and transmitted to 3 organ recipients that all displayed aggressive behavior, went into a coma, and died. The CDC investigated this and found that the organ donar had been bitten by a bat in his apartment, bats were living in the attic there.

Rabies is actually pretty scary now, and I’m extra worried about this virus.

Does anyone know why there is a vaccine for pets but not for humans, since it is so deadly? And if there does happen to be a vaccine for humans, by any chance, why is it not given with our other routine sets of vaccinations?

Just curious.

Checkpoints that confiscate pets?

I live in Las Vegas, and I am moving to Maryland soon, and I’m concerned about any checkpoints that might inspect our pets (3 dogs and 1 cat) or ask to see if they are up to date on their vaccinations. We are going to take I-40 to Tennessee and then I-81 from Tennessee to Maryland. Are there any checkpoints along I-40 or I-81 that might confiscate our pets if they aren’t up to date on their shots?
