Today, at work, I heard what has to be one of the sadder stories I’ve heard in awhile.
Owner got his 10-to-12-week-old pit bull its first shots – from my clinic, that’s usually the DHPP/DHPP4L and a Strongid dewormer. The customer went home shortly after vaccination, and the dog had a reaction at home. Nothing was done to take care of the dog until four days later, and the puppy died. The animal clinic the dog went to for treatment has reported the owner for animal cruelty.
I’m hoping they nail this guy to the wall.
Are there any legal repercussions for animal cruelty?
TL;DR – do not have a pet if you cannot afford to take care of it.

I have a 1 yr 5 month old female Min Pin I took her to the vet last Monday to get her 1 yr vaccinations which included, boratella, rabies and another but forgot the name. She of course was very sore and would not jump or play the rest of the day which is normal. But what I noticed Friday evening is she had a quarter size lump right beside her right should blade. I have not been able to call my vet since they closed before I found the lump and wont be able to call them till Monday after I get off work. Has anyone had same eractions in their pets from getting vaccinated? It seems to have gotten smaller, but still ultra worries. I love my puppy very much and hope one of the vaccinations did not make her sick…

I have a 10 week old pup. When I took her to the vet the day I got her I gave him her pet pasport (vac record). He said that she needed her next shots 4 weeks from her last shots which is tuesday coming. But the breeder said that she could go out until 7 days after her 12-14 week shots.
Is the 12-14 week shots the 3rd lot of shots or the second? Because for some reason 16 weeks (as the 3rd lot) seems to stick in my head.
PS. I had a big night last night so I’m a little tied that’s why this question is so disjointed. Sorry.
Ah I’ll try and put this a little simpler. What weeks am I meant to get the puppy lot of shots in Australia?
I thought it was
6weeks
12-14
then 16
(Oh and she is booked in for Tuesday so this question is sort of a waste of time really.)
Yeah but I didn’t get my usual vet, she was away and frankly the substitute vet was a bit of a tool. He didn’t ask about anything like what I planned on feeding her. He didn’t run down all the stuff I need to do. He just looked at her card and said he’ll make an appointment for her 10 week vac.
My usual vet always runs through everything. like my older dog just reached middle age and she went through his diet and told me what I need to change. Asked me heaps of questions and keeps asking if I need anything else or have any more questions. she’s really good.

I have two 4yr old female cats. They do not have all of their vaccinations yet and so I was wondering if I should consider getting them. Some say sometimes it is worse to get them so I’m debating the situation. There are also stray cats outside our house regularly, some of whom have been tested positive for FIV among other things. They are indoor cats but one likes going out to eat grass from time to time; the stray cats are sometimes on our steps and well obviously my cats go there to get to the bottom for the grass. What vaccines are absolutely a must? Keeping in mind their age. (Just in case it matters because it does sometimes, I live in Canada).
Also, I have a 6mth old puppy…what vaccines would he need now?

I’m 24, a newly qualified midwife and have a lot of dog experience so dw about that.
I have visited rescue centres and seen some rottweilers and they seem very nice (I’m against stereotypes) an german shepherds who I adore (many
in family) and boxers who I also like.
On the other hand I’d love a St Bernard or Newfoundland but they would have to be a puppy.
Which dog should I get?
BQ: I have roughly 300 pounds left over each month, would
that cover food and health insurance?
Thankyou<3

i need a dog bed in my dogs cage…. she sleeps in a cage….
and she chews on stuff so i need some kind of bed that wont rip or tear easily. or maybe some other type of material
i could make her sleep on the plastic but that would suck for her so i want her to be comfortable but i need something that she wont rip apart.
shes a weimaraner
also i would like it to be somewhat cheap under 50$
i could try the ones at petsmart but those are really expensive for a bed
also if you could send me to a link if you have a specific product in mind
she is still a puppy

I have a 4 month old puppy and he chews his toys on my couch and leaves wet spots it’s just gross,I have a blanket over the cushions to help with the spots and I wash the blanket 3-4 times a week to keep it from smelling, but I want to get a dog bed just for him so if he wants to chew he can have his own space and not worry about him messing up my couch any helpful tips?

I travel alot with my dogs and will be doing trials starting in august. My dog comes over the border canada/USA alot. We only live about 2 hours from the border so we go about once every 2 weeks, sometimes more. We often go camping in Vancouver (we live in sask) and often have to go to busy brandings. Good herding dogs have been stolen/lost just because of all the termoil. What are some pros of having your dog microchipped? Cons? Health hazards? I do have him tattooed. He also always wears his collar which has a metel plate with my name and ## as well as address. He is also reg. with the AKC AND CKC (can). Im also considering insurance for him what are your opinions for that? He is an INTACT male reg. cattle dog (ACD). Are there any rules about intact dogs beging insured or chipped? thanks!
Also, im curious. Id like to try for therapy with my dog. He is very calm around people and loves attention. Does is matter that he is intact for that? I know its off topic.
Yes, i do show him. He has won Best puppy in show twice. and gotten 1st 2nd 1st and 5th in his herding trials. Once i get his tests and some more titles i do plan on studding him to quality APPROVED HEALTH TESTED females
I do have his CGC

Hello,
I was told that it does not hurt when pets are euthanized. I have also been told that it does hurt when they are euthanized. Which one is true?

Thank you.

I am thinking of getting pet insurance for a new puppy. I like the features of "Trupanion Pet Insurance". Does anyone have any experience, either good or bad, about this company?
Thanks.

I gotta a puppy and i’ve had other dogs before but we’ve always gotten their vaccinations, deworming and tests done at local pet stores and I don’t recall them ever doing a "check-up" on any of them.
This time we’re going to an actual vet and he has a special for vaccinations, deworming and a "check-up".
What does a vet do during the "check-up"?

I was looking into pet insurance for my puppy that comes with preventative care as well as accidental and illness coverage. I looked into Trupanion and PetsBest but neither cover preventative issues such as shots and etc. I’ve heard time and time before it’s better to put the money in a savings account and using it if it’s need but I’ve had some bad luck with high veterinary bills which insurance definitely would of helped with. I was wondering if PurinaCare was trust able and if anybody has any experience about them?
