My 7 puppies just had their first vaccinations at 8 weeks. A breeder bought the shots and squeezed their neck and injected the 8 in 1. No rabies shot yet. Why is there a lump on every dog? Is this painful to my puppies?

So we went to the vet yesterday to get my 2 month almost 3 month old golden retriever his rabies shot & lyme. & The vet gave us a puppy kit full of information & she recommend us to get Trupanion Insurance. I googled it & did a lot of research but still Im so confused. It says it covers all those illness & accidents at 90% does that mean your still going to have to pay 10% for his accidents & sugerys & illness, which you are paying anyways every month? & if let say i go to the vet & they do his wellness exam & give him his shots that he needs do they cover 90% of that too & whats the deductible for exams & shots or surgery’s & illness??? even though you get 90% covered off what? vet appointments & emergency??
Or should I get Embrace ?

I’ve been getting this package for LUV MY PET from petco for three years and once every year. So yearly vaccinations. This year I’ve researched and there is speculation that the vaccines, if given yearly, can actually cause more harm than good. They say the new recommendation should be every three years. Her rabies is up though and I need to give that to her but I was wondering if someone thinks that I should skip the 4in1 which is: FVR, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (distemper) and Chlamydia. They also recommend a FeLV but I also heard do not give a strictly inside cat these vaccines but I have in the past. She lives in a condo and there is no way she’s going anywhere lol I also am never around any other animals and she’s healthy. I want to give her an update on her rabies, fecal test and heart worm prev. and call it a visit for vaccines. Thoughts and advice is appreciated, thank you!

when i first bought the puppy, the owner couldn’t find his shot record. so i took him to the vet, and gave him a rabies shot. a week after, the puppy’s last owner called me, said he found the shot record. and i looked, the puppy has already had a rabies shot. so that made 2 in the same month.

I’ve searched the web, and had no luck. I just want to know how a rabies shot prevents an animal from getting rabies if it’s bitten?

I am stationed in South Korea and my wife is going to be moving out here with me and we have a 5 month old female Chihuahua and I want to know what vaccinations I need to get her before my wife brings her to South Korea. She is completely caught up on all of her shots as of right now. She is going to be getting her first rabies shot in the next week or so. I don’t want my wife to bring our dog over here and have her get sick, or worse, because there was a vaccination that I didnt get for her. So if you could please let me know what shots is recommended for South Korea I would be very thankful. Thank you Joshua Hardman

ok, so you are walking down a road, and then out of the blue, a terribly rabid dog comes up and attacks you, leaving you with a nasty flesh wound, and a trip to the emergency room. but what if you can’t get to the ER, or if you have crappy insurance? so you leave your wound untreated, do you get rabies instantly or does it build up over time? and do you get all the effects that say a dog gets? (foaming at the mouth, etc)???

My cat needs to be groomed because his fur gets matted (I know, we need to brush him more) and our local vet overcharges for shots. I heard that PetSmart will groom pets as long as they’ve had a rabies shot. Will PetSmart provide a rabies shot, and how much if they do? I can’t seem to find enough info on their web site.

I also cleaned the wound with soap and water, wiped it with rubbing alcohol and put polysporin on it and a band-aid.
Is there any risk of disease or other symptoms after getting bitten by a dog? I got bit by my dog on my finger just a while ago and I was bleeding. He has had all of his shots though (including rabies shot). So should I be fine??

I had the house cat vaccinated with anti-rabies because my son plays rough with her and so gets a scratch/bite every now and then. Two days later he gets bit again. I know the cat is healthy, but I am not so sure with the rabies shot still fresh in the cat. Don.t they use the same virus in the vaccine?

My recently 1 year old dog has had all of his puppy vaccinations, (rabies, leptospirosis, etc.) Does he need any more? If you can, please specify which ones, we live in Toronto if that has any help whatsoever. We’re not sure if he needs any more vacccinations at all of how often the old ones have to be boosted.
Thank you!

We recently rescued a dog from near a dumpster where my partner works. She’s a beagle/pit mix, and she’s as sweet as can be. We’re looking at taking her in for her vaccinations, as she had no tags when we found her on her collar indicating she had her rabies or anything else. Will it harm her if she has in fact had the vaccinations before to get them for her again? I want to make sure she is safe, but not if it is going to pose a health risk.
