First question: Is there anything that can be done to make this boarding experience much better than the last?
2nd Question: My Terrier is going to have to miss one of her CGC classes, how should I handle that?
They are being boarded somewhere different this time. Last time they were boarded at their previous vet. They were supposed to be kept together but out poodle ended up in a smaller cage in another section and our Terrier mix (who is only 20lbs) ended up in an indoor outdoor run. Also I sent their food with them, our poodle is on a special diet, and I found out he was given another dogs food and another dog was given his food. Even though I put on there how much to give and both my dogs first and last names followed by ONLY. (My poodle became very sick from that)
We were gone for 10 days and both dogs came home traumatized. Our terrier came back to us about like she did when we adopted her.
this place has assured us the dogs will be together, and I can even come back and see where they are put when we drop them off, they assured us they would have playtime and walks together. (but I’m still nervous because we’ve heard that before)
They seem a lot better here though and I hope its a better experience. We are only going to be gone two nights.
What can i do as not to worry and what can I do ahead of time to help make this a better experience for them?
I don’t do petsitter or anything like that. I don’t like the idea of someone coming into my home when I’m not there. So boarding is the only option
Add: They used to stay with relatives but our relative that would watch them got a dog and they said they couldn’t handle having 3 dogs in the house so we no longer have anyone that can watch our dogs.
