What is the best vacuum for pet hair?

My vacuums always break. I want something good on floor and carpet and that can handle the pet hair. I like the Hepa-filter idea but not a neccessity. Any suggestions?

I have a Dyson vacuum. Quite expensive, but has a lifetime guarantee, is bag-less, and gets dog and cat hair up better than any vacuum I have ever had.
I have four cats, two small dogs, and am babysitting my sister’s and my mother’s three dogs; including a German shepherd. I swear that dog is unmatched in her ability to add another layer to my carpet. But sure enough; this vacuum doesn’t leave a trace of hair behind.

The best vacuum I’ve ever had is my Kirby.That thing sucks dirt from under the house out of the carpet. I know they are like 1000.+ dollars if you buy them from the people that come to your house but I just recently purchased a used one off of ebay from a good vacuum reseller and I only paid around $200.00 and that came with the shampooer. It is the absolute best vacuum that I have ever owned!
We have a Bassett that sheds like crazy. We have 2 Oreck one new and one older they both work good. I vaccuum a pillow she lays on all the time and vaccuum the room she stays in everyday.It does a great job. I keep up with the care of the machine and I haven’t had that much trouble.Go to the Oreck store and try it.. Take some hair with you.
well a lint roller is really Good for like couches and chairs but for the carpet, the best is the Kirby its a little pricey but it works so much i almost died when i saw all of the dirt in my carpet.

Dare Devil it got my Cat’s hair and my Dog’s hair! It lasted for about four or three years!!!
